My first infographic using Powerpoint - from boring to BAM!
After writing my first blog post to teach my customers how to write a donations request letter, I grew very dissatisfied with the short bullet point list I'd whipped out to illustrate my post.
Then I received a short email about the power of infographics... did a little research... and cracked open my previously unused PowerPoint and got busy...
Here's my unsatisfactory little bullet point graphic:
Functional and informative, but let's face it -
It's BORING..
After taking the hint from my email inbox, and a short learning curve to get the feel for PowerPoint, I produced this much easier-on-the-eye version of my informative summary:
BAM! Colors that work with my blog theme, and a little splash of attention-get red draw the eye to important bits.
If an untrained newbie can go from a yawner graphic to this in a day, I can't wait to see what I'll whip up after I get some more infographics training under my belt!
If you hesitate to try infographic creation, I just want to say that PowerPoint is only one way to make an infographic, and you'll find the method that suits you best.
