My WA Journey So Far
Hi WealthyAffliliate!
So, after four days of being a member (and two of being Premium!), I think I'm getting the hang of it. I'm able to answer other people's questions. I have a website of my very own, I have a list of keywords to build content off of, I have the largest network I've ever had on any website (is that sad? probably).
I've made websites before, though I've never bought my own domain for it before. I was that kid who would take HTML books with me on camping vacations, and I made a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure-styled Harry Potter RPG when I was 13, haha (yes, it was terrible, and yes, it included "attending class" and taking quizzes on content I just made up). I'm an avid Redditor and will spend hours drafting the perfect posts. I guess what I'm saying is that I've always had a passion for creating content. This has been the most fun for me of this process.
The hardest parts have been coming up with keywords. I don't know if I just chose a niche that not enough people know about, but most relevant searches that I've tried have had 20-50 searches per month, and the QSR usually sits around 6.8. I've saved all the 7+ QSR keywords I can think of, but I'm really going to need to branch out or I'm going to run out of keyword content quick.
I'm ready to start affiliating and trying to reach my goals! Here's to us, WA!

Thanks Helen! I do feel like I'm doing well, and I can't wait to actually make cash off of this! I've been obsessed for the past four days and thinking constantly about my website and completing new lessons. I feel more than ready!

I really like how accessible the information is here. I'm not a huge fan of the videos, but I'm never a fan of video content, lol. Every lesson I feel like I'm doing better, and there's always the fact that I'm constantly creating new content! So exciting.

You are helping to motivate me if you didn't know. Because I am the ultimate over-thinker which is delaying my progress- among some other things.I read through most of your website. Really nice!
Thank you for the kind words, and I'm really glad I could be a motivation. I struggle with the same thing -- for instance, I've spent all day researching, getting distracted, networking, writing some of my post, researching more, getting distracted again... it's been harder for me than I thought to stay on task. (The post is only 2/3 done now, by the way; I'm doing it right now.)
I think if I sit down to write, I'll have to turn the Internet off for a few minutes. I can always get my perfect picture later, but the content is what is going to drive traffic, and the more content the better. If you misspelled a few words, or weren't very clear, someone will let you know and you'll be able to fix it, or even generate new content.
I like to keep a list of not only new keywords, but of ideas for posts I'd like to write, and then find relevant keywords after. A couple of the ideas have actually come from comments, which is nice.
My goal is to create one post/page per day. If I have an empty day, I'll make two and save the second to publish on a busier day. So far it's working out pretty well for me; I haven't been completely overwhelmed, but content is getting written at a consistent pace. As time goes on, I'll figure out more effective to generate content, time-wise and self-criticism-wise. I'll let you know. :)
