Visitor Engagement

In most cases we put very little value in what people think of our products.

We have this belief that because we are the one producing and supplying what we have come to believe people want, then our words and beliefs are the only ones that matter.

This is proven false when we have a 0% visitor engagement reading. We begin to learn to value of people and try to find ways to ensure they feel valued.

Always leaving an open forum for guests and encouraging a dialogue.

Which would seem rather hard to now-a-days when the only thing to be heard upon a person's lips is how everything is unaffordable or is being pushed off for a later date.

The holidays are coming around and in order to keep up with the market, big retailers are asking people to get off line and come in the stores. That is a change in the dialogue. When a retailer has to ask people to come in the store for fear of not making sales or enough visitor engagement, it should be inferred from this observation that times are still in a state of uncertainty and what we really need is more people interested in speaking to one another.

The Biggest problem I have been occurring is that the dialogue in one sided.

How is it I can write an article that informs and entertains readers; How do I know? because of the engagement level. The simple fact that they click onto the site. The article is written and not a single person has given a constructive critic or expounded on the topic?

I have formed a belief from this stoic response that people are not reading the material or if they are reading anything, it is the head lines. Which is fine really, I have learned to put everything into a headline and expound on a subject slowly. For the sake of the attention spans of the viewer. I understand the world is moving and most don't have time to sit and talk, they want to be given everything, from information to an overall thought. This being understood should not stop us from wanting to engage the visitor.

So I have proposed a challenge to all those that read articles of other WA supporters, when you leave a comment, don't tell people how to better run there sites. Engage in the conversation that is before you, get involved in the lives that are taking the time to present a product to you. Ask questions and remain relevant. What ever you do, don't repeat what some other producer is spouting, because half the time that information is useless after a month, The world is ever changing, be sure to change with it.

I agree with you that people seem to have a short attention span. Often they do not read your comment/entertainment.
I have added images and movie clips or advertisements. I did discover that people did tend to slow down and did read, although rather fast, the content.
There are two kinds of comments. One is giving a critical feedback and the other is saying truthfully a good response to the content.

I was trying to give a feedback on improving the post or page. I should have instead have given a good comment about it because this is what the visitor sees. The feedback on the other one is what can be improved or corrected is not shown to the visitor.

So, if you do site comments, make sure what the person wants. Usually, he wants a great comment to go to the comment page on his website.

Hope this helps. I have a product affiliation. I should talk. I have not had any question type comments so far.

Thank you for your honest feedback to this post.
We should see more of that.
You are a wonderful example or what it takes to move a buisness forward.
