One Bolt at a time.
I was introduced to Wealthy Affiliate just five days ago and because of what I have seen and heard already, I have just today, upgraded to Premium, and being a grandfather and senior, I realize that I have just entered the gates of a University with lots of new things to learn and put into action.
A couple of months ago, in the course of my work locally, in my home town, I met a man in his fifties, I would think, who built and raced unique racing cars.
He lived in a very nice house, in a lovely bush setting, on the top of a hill, that was very well maintained.
In the course of our conversation, he asked me if I would like to see his two cars that he had in his shed nearby. Of course my answer was " Yes please."
On opening the garage door, I was presented with an awesome site. There were these two highly polished, immaculately kept cars that had obviously had many thousands of dollars spent on building, mainitaining and racing them.
He stood there looking very proud, of the two magnificent 'babies' that he had created.
Taking it all in, I said to him, "Wow these must cost you a fortune." I said this because I have a horse and I know how much they cost to keep.
Then he hit me with something that I will never forget, and I believe will help me in this business. He said "You know, I look at things one bolt at a time. There have been times when I could only afford to buy one bolt, but I bought it and told myself that I have done something towards my goal, even if it is only one small bolt. Then I would be pleased with myself, knowing that I had made some progress, no matter how small, toward my goal."
Since that day,I have told this true story to a number of people, to encourage them, when they have felt they are unable to move forward because of some self perceived barrier.
The challenges will come I know, with learning how to do this business, but when I think of "One Bolt at a time," I believe I will feel encouraged to take that next small step toward my goal.

Yes it is true one bolt at a time, just like one step at a time towards your goal. Consistent effort over an extended period of time no matter how long it takes will get you eventually to your destination. Great blog and a good lesson that we need to be reminded of from time to time when we get frustrated with how slow progress is going.
