I like your analogy. Looking at your picture I see the board and chess pieces as my shell website. Building out the website is learning the pieces and their moves. Once you have all that you still cannot play the game until you have some strategy. That to me is learning how to use your website to rank and bring traffic to your website. Now we have all the components and we can play.
