Do you need a spam blocker?
I've tried so many spam blockers, but up until now thousands still pass through. Obviously, the more famous you are on the net, then the more blocks you'll need.
Well, I definitely don't own a PR9, but I still get a hundred each day.
So, here is the joyous little plugin for you to experiment with Anti Spam, yep that's it Anti-Spam!
It's true to its name; since installing it, I've had zero spam and you don't even need to use that horrid and useless captcha.
Can you believe it, it even surpasses Askimet, which is also useless in my opinion, all the same I still have it load just in case.
(UPDATE: I've now taken the plunge to delete Askimet. Anti Spam is still working great and zero spam since writing this blog)

Okay... Askimet is really letting a lot of spam filter into my comment directory. It is starting to spook me. I gotta try something else.

Really really good, I've got it on all my sites and now have zero spam. Others on WA have also told me they started using it with great success:)
Ask yourself "What have I got to lose?".
So far (3 months on) I find it much better than Akismet, plus Akismet is full of you know what I mean ...

I am not sure if anybody knows of Donald Knuth and his work, he is just one of the founding fathers of modern programming as we know it.
This ANTI - SPAM is low profile but packs a mean punch to SPAM, if the developers of this plugin based their programming on this guy we are well covered, I tell you!

YES Sharon! I NEED a spam blocker... for a about a month now, my sites have been getting hammered by very long spammy messages multiple times a day (one site in particular) - and I have Askimet installed...
Quick question - Do I need to un-install Askimet before installing this one?
I know you say that you keep Askimet 'loaded', just in case, but just to confirm - do you mean 'installed'?

Yes installed and activated & btw I too was having those stupid long spammy messages on one site. I'd get hundreds in a day, this plugin cured it.
I do remember your blog about spammy comments, let me know if this helped or if you find another.
