Changing domain name or doing 301 redirects
Well Joshua Kemp put up an interesting post So what should I do about this domain issue. Although related it's not if you get what I mean. Anyhow, I own a site gr8caninedogs and without rabbiting on I'd like to add articles about cats since I own one and have owned plenty in the past.
The thing is my domain suggests dogs only so could I change my domain name to something that suggests cats and dogs, then transfer the articles to the new site.
I have zero knowledge of 301 redirects, so the above seems an easy option or is it?
There is no info on WA so does anyone have any good ideas please?

Sharon, I have had question about this as well and today I searched the 301 redirect topic and maybe you will find this link helpful to read, if you haven't already found a resolve. premium.wpmudev.org/blog/creating-301-redirects-wordpress/ I started browsing it and its possible you can follow its instruction.
I actually sorted it, it was much easier than I thought. I used this method How to Transfer a SiteRubix Website to Your Own Domain so I changed my site from gr8caninedogs.com to petcavern.com in less than 5 minutes, it was so easy.
Actually, I don't see any difficulty in firing up the new domain and then just using the 301 redirect plugin... quick and simple. If I'm wrong, I'd love to have someone tell me because it sure worked great for me! I believe that I did the import/export thing but that only took a few minutes and the 301 handles the rest so that there's no duplicate content to worry about!

It's been a while since I used it but I think the plugin was called Simple 301 Redirects and I used it back when I was still stumbling around here like a zombie! )-: I believe that the first time I used it was when I moved my very first blog over to WA from Bloggerspot. Here's how I transfer from one site to another... How to Transfer a SiteRubix Website to Your Own Domain And then I just use the Simple 301 Redirects to totally redirect everything from the old site to the new one to guard against any potential duplicate content.
I wish I could help you but I have no idea - other than paying an eLancer to help you with programming. I've been faced with this before several times and always ended up biting the bullet, changing the domain and transferring files - a tedious job and unsatisfying. If anyone has a better way, I'd certainly like to hear about it.

So what is the best, using presence domain consider branded or get the new richword for earning wabing.
I ended up changing the domain name, it seemed best and I'm glad I changed it because it wasn't that difficult to do.
