Getting there. Step by Step
So, I knew Wealthy Affiliate was the real deal from the get go. I actually came across WA while searching for reviews on another affiliate program I was looking at signing up with. After reading multiple articles and reviews on WA, everything seemed to be legit and the more I read the more I began to be drawn to WA. I signed up for premium within the first or second day. My bank cards wouldn't actually work for some reason and I was so stressed about missing the deal that I got in contact with kyle and asked him to please extend it by a day, which he did because he's awesome
I didn't want to waste any more time than I already had, so I got stuck straight in.
I started off strong, I chose a passion of mine and everything just fell into place from there, writing came naturally and creating content is fun. I highly recommend choosing a niche you actually have a passion for or a niche you know things about, at least for your first website. It makes the learning process that much better.
I went big from the start, I had a few speed bumps with my visual content but I decided to go straight to the source and contacted the head office of a massive global company. I thought well it's worth a try and it turned out to be the best thing I could have done. After a brief chat, I got direct help from their marketing manager which supplied me with all the logos and pictures I needed for my website. Think BIG.
I started to get stuck and a few days went to waste but not because I lost interest or I hit a blank. I have a full time job in IT and it can get demanding when things start getting busy and because I work in different countries, I get caught in the different time zones which can EXHAUST you, especially if I'm putting in 14 to 18 hour days.
I have never worked a 9 to 5 in my life but I still try to apply the " If you come home and do not work on your dreams and goals after working an 8 hour day, your not tired you're uninspired. "
I also have a small morning routine which I do everyday, regardless of how tired I am and I feel this keeps me in check to be productive even when I feel like a zombie.
So having been worked to the bone, I was struggling to fit this in. No excuses though, NOW I'm back and getting as much done as I can.
Going through the training and ticking off the boxes as I go has been a real educational experience. Especially with regards to the keywords and creating content around them. These things intrigued me. Also just watching as a blank website begins to turn into your own masterpiece is great.
I think a big piece of getting somewhere with this is delegation of time. I for instance spend 30 minutes following people, reading bios, interacting with the WA community, (I've had some good laughs on the live chat) following up on comments and likes. I then like to spend about an hour to an hour 30 reading blogs, training and saving pages I will come back to. I make myself some coffee and I just read, take notes but I don't allow myself to stop and go do something else within WA, I make sure I get my reading in. Then in between work and my off time I'll spend a good couple of hours creating content and working on my site. This is not done all straight after each other but I try my best to make sure it gets done in a day.
As I progress through the training and I watch how my website comes together my goals get bigger and bolder. I know I will work full time online doing something I love from anywhere in the world. This is the key to that door. it completely depends on who you are as a person and how hard you work at your craft. It won't take days, weeks or even months but once things start to happen for you, you'll be glad you started when you did and never gave up.
You have to be prepared to put in the hours even when you don't feel like it, if your not in the mind to create content don't, read something or interact but do something everyday on WA. You'll reap the rewards.
Enjoy the process and think about what others will gain from your content or website and not just about $$$, people can tell when your just trying to make a quick buck or when you are actually being sincere.
BUT things are falling into place, I'm happy being a part of WA, I can see success and just remember to not give up when it gets hard. Take everything step by step.
