Goals.

Setting goals, both short-term and long-term, is not just a regimented task of to-do lists and deadlines,.

Short-term goals act as stepping stones towards our bigger vision of the future. Financial freedom, spending more time with our families, time and location freedom. All things that come with building a successful online business.

These short term goals, make our long-term goals more attainable and less overwhelming. They provide purpose to our day-to-day activities, give us direction, and keep us focused in the face of distractions.

Talking about long-term goals, they're the blueprints dream. The mirror what we "think" is our ideal life now, yet there is an intriguing aspect about goals, achieved or nearly achieved, that often goes unnoticed.

Goals of your future, also become insignificant goals of your past. That is the point of this post, and what I want to discuss.

The Paradox of Achieving Goals.

An interesting phenomenon resides within the process of goal achievement. Have you ever noticed that when you eventually achieve your goals, or even come close to them, there's a peculiar feeling of normality? It's as if the achievement totally normal.

There's an explanation for that.

Your goal once achieved are full integrated into your life, by the time you achieve them.

When you set your goal, it feels big, ambitious, and sometimes outlandish. That is the point of goals, to motivate you to achieve more. The thrill of the chase captivates you.

However, as you progressively adapt and reach these ambitious aspirations, they lose their shimmer. The excitement fades not because the goal loses its value, but because by then, you've already elevated your standards, set your sights on new and much bigger achievements.

Once you've scaled one towering mountain, you're already eyeing the next. And that leads me to...

The Evolving Excitement of Your Future (Goals).

The journey often outshines the destination. Let's take a second to really think about that. The JOURNEY, will outshine the DESTINATION when you arrive. Similar to purchasing a house, you envision yourself on that beautiful deck with a view, but in reality when you get that house, you rarely use that deck and rarely get to experience that view. Simply because the novelty of it has passed, and new "goals" for enrichment come into focus.

The excitement of goal-setting doesn't primarily stem from the moment of achievement, but rather from the work-in-progress status that fuels your every minute. It's the adrenaline rush of conquering your challenges.

The 'YOU' in the future is always full of possibilities. The 'YOU' that can beat the odds, make dreams a reality, and continually test limits. As you start inching closer to your present goals, your future self turns up with a new batch of fresh goals that yet again trigger the cycle of growth and excitement.

So, the real thrill of goal-setting isn't just about hitting targets. It's about the pursuit that keeps you fired up and perpetually ready to scale new heights.

The Everlasting Goal of Growth.

What I have learned over the years, is that GROWTH is what is exciting. It becomes less financial, and less focused on a particular aspect of your life that will improve if you "achieve" something. The excitement will come from the idea that you can grow, whether that is as a person, as a business, or some sort of data point connected to your business.

The fulfillment is in the striving for something further, something bigger, bigger than our current selves, bigger than our current realities.

Your past accomplishments, those goals you tirelessly strived for, will gradually become faded recollections...and perhaps even laughable as they may eventually become SIMPLE accomplishments and tasks in your business.

Your FUTURE you is always where the excitement lies. Set goals, work to accomplish them, but realize that there is always going to be a want for me. That want is what is going to create ongoing excitement

Always future you, and the infinite potential this version of you holds. Because as long as you continue to grow, so will your ambitions... and so will your excitement towards life. Sure, your present goals are stepping stones. Necessary. But it's the future you that will always stretch your excitement. And that, my friends, is truly the everlasting goal of growth.

Absolutely true, Kyle. The journey, the growth, and the constant pursuit of something bigger are what keep us engaged and excited. Our past achievements are like stepping stones to greater things. Here's to the ever-evolving future and the endless potential it holds! 🚀🌟

Yes! Love that, our experiences from yesterday and years past are simply stepping stones for our future and much greater things!

Hi Kyle, I agree. I have a one-on-one meeting today with an affiliate marketer, a six-figure earner who is going to show me a way to drive even more traffic to my website among other things, so that should be fun, looking forward to that. I am determined to achieve my goals, I will succeed. Have a great day and a great weekend, all the best.

You have lots of those here within WA, and lots of avenues for traffic that you can learn through our classes. The SEO foundation is a solid approach, and then from there you can venture into paid traffic, social media, etc.

Have yourself a great weekend Brian and I hope the meeting for you is a productive one! :)

Thanks, Kyle.

I admire and follow Esther Hicks. She makes a very similar point "you never get it done". And I recall something from Dr. Maxwell Maltz "we're like a servo-mechanism" meaning we're hard-wired to be always looking forward...goal setting beings is what we are...without them...I think we start to fade away...

4

That is absolutely right, and that is how it feels if you are working towards "future achievement". That should be the goal as a business owner (and as a person) as there is always going to be room to grow and get better. :)

Well put as always Kyle, goals are ever changing as we move forward with any and every thing In our lives!!

Possessing the ability to adapt and change them as we progress is a fantastic (and somewhat underestimated) skill to have.....

Enjoy the rest of your week my friend! :-)

Goals are shifting, they are getting completed, and new ones were being set. To think that we all had a goal of being able to walk...and then they snowballed from there. ;)

2

Absolutely Kyle and I am happy to report that I am still able to walk (most of the time that is)!!!
