I Missed Out on Selling Business.com for $350 Million.

…But I’m Not Missing the AI Wave..

I have been thinking a lot about AI (Artificial Intelligence, not Allen Iverson), and have been trying to envision the broader outcome of what AI is going to mean to all of us and where the opportunities are going to really lies as we move forward (and what we can become).
The reality is that AI I isn’t just changing the way we work, it’s changing WHO gets to create.

Today, you don’t need permission to build something amazing. You don’t need a publisher, an agency, or a boss.
You just need an idea, a willingness to learn, and the right tools.

When I started out, I felt like I had missed a load of opportunity. The domain purchasing frenzy had just ended, and people were buying up single word domains and selling them for millions of dollars. I remember when Business.com sold for $350 MILLION. Damn, if only I was aware of the domain thing a bit earlier.

Well, I am viewing AI as the new ground floor opportunity. You are on the FREAKIN' ground floor.

The people who start now will be the ones leading the next decade of online business. Those who wait will be learning from the ones who didn’t. And those that never take any sort of action, will be likely working for those that are taking action (or buying their products/services from them).
