Hey everyone,

Ever wanted to design a professional logo...and fast. You can now do this more efficiently than ever and professional‑quality using ChatGPT‑4o.

You can apply this workflow to any brand or event, and in today’s example is for a golf team called the River Rats (which is actually a team I am on for an upcoming tournament). Let's have a look at the process.

1. Define Your Logo Concept

Start by asking ChatGPT to outline the design. A clear concept prompt might be:

Prompt:
“Create an outline for a circular patch logo for the ‘River Rats’ golf team. Include:

  • An outer ring with the team name ‘River Rats’
  • A central icon of a stylized rat holding a golf club
  • Space at the bottom for optional text (e.g. year or event)
  • Color suggestions that evoke energy and fun”

ChatGPT will deliver a structured breakdown. Layout, typography, icon placement, and color palette, remember GPT will do all of this initial design work for you with a simple prompt.

2. Generate the Initial Logo

With the outline in hand, click Create Image in ChatGPT‑4o and paste your prompt. Within seconds, you’ll get a mock‑up featuring:

  • A circular badge
  • “River Rats Golf Invitational” text
  • A rat icon wielding a golf club

This instant prototype replaces what once required expensive design services.

3. Refine On‑The‑Fly

To tweak elements:

  1. Click the mock‑up image.
  2. Use the Select tool to highlight the area you want to change (e.g., text or icon).
  3. Enter an edit prompt, such as:
    • “Remove ‘Golf Invitational’ text.”
    • “Change the rat’s hat to blue.”
  4. ChatGPT regenerates only that portion, so you maintain the rest of the design.

Iterate until the logo matches your vision.

4. Finalize for Merchandise

Once the design is complete:

  • Add any final text (e.g. “Golf Tourney ’25”).
  • Download the high‑resolution image.
  • Provide the file to your merch vendor for hats, shirts, or patches.

Why This Works

  • Speed: Logo concepts in minutes instead of days.
  • Cost‑Effective: No designer fees, just your creativity plus AI.
  • Flexibility: Instant edits let you experiment endlessly.

Now It's Your Turn...

Try this process for your next brand or event. Share your logo creations in the comments, I’d love to see your designs and hear about your experience using ChatGPT‑4o. Also if you have any comments or questions, leave them below! ;)

This is really good information. I have been using GPT for images for ages, but not yet tried the "edit" process. I think that can help immensely, especially with GPT's struggle with spelling sometimes.

It would also allow us to build a logo rather than trusting GPT to create something at random, which it does if you ask it to try again with a prompt.

Thanks for this, Kyle.

They edits work pretty good, and I am noticing features being integrated as I get more complex (like interactive charts, etc). This iteration of image creation was the biggest leap yet, and it's only going to get better.

You can edit the text, the image, and give feedback on colurs/design after the initial image is created. Try it out, it is going to really allow you to advance and polish your image creation with efficiency.

It was fun and simple to use the image generator, but I wasn't completely satisfied with the final image, so I did some editing. I love the final outcome, and will be putting the image generator to good use. Thanks for the tutorial that brought that capability to my attention!! : )

Really cool, and the beauty of the new platform in GPT-4o is that you can polish and refine things with the magic editor, based on human language prompts to improve them. ;)

Hi Kyle. This looks great and it's good to know that there is a way to edit a logo that's been created by clicking on the icon at the top.

But I have a big problem with ChatGPT 4o - for the last few days I haven't managed to create any images at all. Every time it starts to create an image, I get a popup saying 'Processing image
Lots of people are creating images right now, so this might take a bit. We'll notify you when your image is ready.' But it never appears - not even several hours later. I am wondering if this is happening to free users now??

Thank you for the great video, Kyle, it's appreciated.

Just a few weeks ago, I thought I would ask ChatGPT if it could create a thumbnail for a YouTube video, and it can! I would normally create YouTube thumbnails in Canva, but now I'm starting to use ChatGPT more for this task.

When it comes to arty type of stuff, I have never found that my ideas are particularly brilliant. However, ChatGPT changes all this and comes up with some great ideas.

It's also a great time saver, as I have ChatGPT open in one monitor, I can give it prompts using Dragon NaturallySpeaking and carry on working in my other monitors.

I do sometimes find ChatGPT can get the text out of alignment, and sometimes it struggles to put it in the right place. But I'm sure that over time, these issues will be ironed out.

Have a great day.

Yes, very cool idea for this and you can create many different styles for these as well! Glad t hear you are using AI with such proficiency Roy!

Thank you, Kyle.

I think the biggest thing for me, regarding AI, Kyle, is how quickly it has improved. The information is much more accurate than even just a few months ago, it appears and it has only just started!

Wishing you a great day.

Kyle

Thanks so much for the training, it was amazing! 🙌
Before this, I used to totally lose it when working on images with ChatGPT.

I’d be yelling:
“Not like that! You idiot, you spelled it wrong again!!”
“Remove that damn rock! I’ve said it like ten times already — no rock!!” 😤?

Now I know how to highlight the area and communicate way more clearly.
Seriously, thank you Kyle 😊
