Create Your Own Action Figure with ChatGPT-4o
In this post, I’ll show you how to design a personalized action figure (complete with blister pack)using a single AI prompt in ChatGPT-4o. This fun hack lets you generate, refine, and polish your own toy avatar in minutes.
Why Create an AI Action Figure?
Action figures are a trending way to express personality and brand identity online. You can use them for social media avatars, team swag, or just for fun. Leveraging AI makes the process fast and cost-effective compared to traditional design.
1. Choose the Right Model: ChatGPT-4o
- Model Selection: In ChatGPT, select GPT-4o for best image generation results.
- Image Input: Upload a clear photo of yourself (full-body or headshot). The more accurate the source image, the better the figure’s proportions.
2. Craft Your Initial Prompt
Provide a single, detailed prompt to generate the first draft. For example:
Prompt:
“Draw an action figure of the person in this photo. Include a Yeti mic, a barbell, a laptop, and a coffee cup. Label them ‘AI Designer Kyle Loudon.’ Render it in a blister pack style with a colorful background.”
ChatGPT-4o returns a ready-to-review mock-up of your custom figure.
3. Refine and Iterate
Use the image editor’s Select tool to pinpoint areas for change:
- Select the Text Label:
- Prompt: “Remove the word ‘Ad’ before the name.”
- Swap Accessories:
- Prompt: “Replace the two mics with a single Yeti mic.”
- Update Title:
- Prompt: “Change ‘Digital Tech Expert’ to ‘AI Designer.’”
Each edit regenerates only the selected region, preserving the rest of the design.
4. Finalize Your Action Figure
After a few iterations, you’ll have a crisp, polished action figure:
- The figure stands in a blister pack.
- Accessories reflect your personal brand.
- Text labels show your chosen title.
5. Share & Showcase
- Social Media: Post your figure as an avatar or a fun meme.
- Community Feedback: Attach your generated image in the comments to compare designs.
- Merchandise: Use the high-res file to produce custom keychains, stickers, or tee shirts.
Prompt Template for You to Customize
“Draw an action figure of the person in this photo. Include [accessories] and label them ‘[Your Title].’ Render in a blister pack style with a vivid background.”
Give it a try and share your creations below. I can’t wait to see your AI action figures!

Haha - love this bit of fun! As I have 3 personas (at least) that I'm using over my sites, I've created one for each AND I've created a Facebook post for each of my three sites using these too just for a bit of fun. Great idea, thanks, Kyle.
And here they are:
Yes - 3 is enough for me... although I sometimes harbour another wish to start a site about the secret space program.... NO! Stop!
Just bringing myself back into line!
Have a great day, Andy.

Thanks Kyle.
Its a fun thing to do. I did a number of them last month. April 13, 2025 Fun with AI Mel
One of my son, Chris, he is the one who drives me to my online work. Sophomore in college this year. He does all of the A/V equipment for all of the classrooms, the 5000-seat auditorium, and the theater when they do productions
Only used regular ChatGPT as it wanted me to create a paid account in 4.0 to create an image.
Still very cool Chris! It was allowing images to be created with gpt-4o for a little while there, so not sure if that is still the case.
Thank you.. I should have told it to change the clothing. The picture I sent I was in all back. I look like I’m about to go rob somebody in my action figure LOL
Haha, you can always use the magic brush (as per the video) to make any necessary changes that you want. :)

Hey WA Fam!
Here are my two wildly caffeinated creations brewed in ChatGPT-4o:
1. The Original:
Sonia Zannoni — The Caffeinated Chemist
This one channels my scientist-meets-creator persona: lab coat, hiking boots, vintage laptop, and of course, a mug labeled Lab Roast Blend. It’s very much my “everyday scientist on a mission” look.
2. The Mad Scientist Deluxe Edition:
This version? Total chaos—goggles pushed up, espresso bubbling, sticky notes flying. And yes, that’s my plush coffee bean sidekick, Zappy Jr., sporting his own tiny T-shirt. Bonus points for Latte Spill FX and a to-do list scribbled in caffeine-fueled ambition.
Both made me laugh out loud, and I honestly can’t decide which version is the truest form of my alter ego.
Curious which one you’d pick—classic or mad scientist? Either way, this was way too much fun to make. Thanks, Kyle, for the brilliant idea!
I like the mad scientist one, both are great though! Nice work Sonia!
I like the mad scientist as well!
