Beer with Kyle Fridays: The New Onboarding Experience (Starting Right From the Homepage)

Hey Everyone,
Today I want to build on the conversation that has been swirling around Wealthy Affiliate lately, mostly initiated by me... the agentic talk, the workflow talk, and how that is going to play out in the external experience for users.

We want to initiate that flow right from the start. A high converting, engaging environment beginning on our external website. This helps affiliates, and it also creates a natural transition from outside of Wealthy Affiliate into the back office. In other words, the onboarding experience.

So today I want to share a bit of a hypothetical. This is not a finished product, but I want to show you the direction we are heading with onboarding, starting right from the external WealthyAffiliate.com website.

This Week's Beer.

Today I am going with a Corona. Everyone is familiar with this one. It just felt like a Corona kind of day. It is summertime here in Victoria, British Columbia, another beautiful sunny day, around 24 or 25 degrees Celsius. Always a good day for a Corona. Cheers.

Meet Ace on the Outside.

Here is a basic look at the environment. It does not look super engaging yet, and we will probably keep it fairly simple on purpose. But one thing you will notice is that name again... Ace.

Ace is your conduit between you and your business. It is a chat environment where you can have a conversation about your business. And we want it to start with you being able to talk about an existing business you need to work on, OR if you are looking to start an online business, you can begin that conversation right from the external Wealthy Affiliate website.

The idea is simple. Bring an idea, or none at all, and leave with a game plan.

That covers both sides of who comes to Wealthy Affiliate. People with existing businesses, which is a lot of our audience, as well as people with no experience at all who simply do not know where to start. We want to help both.

How the Conversation Starts.

The engagement kicks off with Ace introducing itself. Something like: "Hey, I'm Ace. I run an online business here with a crew of AI teammates. Research, content, your site, social, email, the money side, all of it. I can sketch your first game plan."

From there you have options. You can say "I have a niche idea," "I have no idea where to start," or you can just type anything at all.

Let me walk through an example. Say I type, "I have no idea where to start, but I am interested in cooking."

This behaves like the conventional AI we have all come to know, whether that is ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Grok. It has a natural conversation with you, but its goal is to guide you into creating a business and into Wealthy Affiliate. That is the key. We are not here to provide endless support on the external site. We are here to help you get inside WA where the real work happens.

Guiding You to a Focused Niche.

So Ace responds that cooking is a great space with lots of people looking for help every day. Then it asks one question to point me in the right direction. For example, would I most enjoy helping busy parents who need fast meals, or beginners?

I go with busy parents needing quick meals. That is actually the environment my own family lives in. Kids running to all their activities, we have lives of our own, and I have a business to run. Everyone seems busy these days, so that is the audience I want to target. I could also reject all the suggestions and go my own way, but busy parents needing quick meals it is.

Ace continues guiding me. It confirms this is sharp focus with a big audience, since parents are searching for this constantly. Then it makes recommendations. Given that busy parents are visual and always on their phones, it suggests short video on TikTok or Instagram Reels, a Pinterest board feeding the same content, and a simple email list.

Then it lays out a first game plan. Strategy and discovery, content, writing scripts and captions and recipe videos, building a simple recipe site with email and monetization, and identifying a first income path. My game plan is ready and being saved.

Graduating Into Wealthy Affiliate.

I can ask follow up questions along the way. Things like "what does free include?" or "I don't have any video experience." Ace adapts. It might suggest starting with Pinterest first and adding video later. It helps me through the process at my pace.

When I say "I am ready to start this," the signup card appears right below the conversation. In the finished product, it will actually pick you up in the middle of the process, right where you left off, and say "okay, let's start building this now."

That is the important part. It graduates you into a signup, and everything you just discussed carries over. Free starter, no credit card, and your conversation and plan come with you. You are brought directly into building out whatever you just mapped out. And of course you can transition away from that if you want, but the default is real, in-line support from our website that actually helps you get rolling with your business.

Built for a Global Community.

Here is something I think is really powerful. This works in other languages.

Say I do not speak English, I speak German. Ace communicates back to me in German and gives me quick replies in German too. Same with Mandarin, which was actually a piece of feedback we received. Someone wanted to be able to converse in Mandarin, so Ace can interpret and guide people in different languages, and you can see it responding and offering quick replies in Mandarin as well.

We want to be much more inclusive globally. It does not matter what language you speak, what your background is, what kind of business you have run in the past, or whether you have any knowledge at all. You can come through this flow, and we are going to help you understand how it works for you and get you actually started with a business in the first five minutes.

Why This All Matters?

We are really excited about this. Not just the direction of the back office and what we are doing in there, but aligning that same mentality on the outside. The ability to help people in real time, regardless of who they are, and get them building an actual business from the very first interaction.

You can send people here from anywhere. Existing business owners, complete beginners, people who have no idea how an online business even works. They come through, we show them how we can help, and they get started fast.

The exact delivery of this may look a little different by the time it ships, but I wanted to showcase the flow and get your reactions.

Your feedback matters, and more than that, it is going to lead to very quick updates in our new environment. We are moving at a development pace we have never been able to hit before. If you have used Kre8or, you have already seen the first glimpse of how fast a platform can evolve. We are rolling out sometimes 30 or 40 code releases a week, and we plan to do the same within Wealthy Affiliate as we get feedback, see room for improvement, and build things we want ourselves. Because if we are not actively using the platform, why would anyone else want to?
