Beer With Kyle: Custom AI Templates Have Arrived!

Today is a VERY exciting day...one that many of you have been eagerly waiting for. We’ve just rolled out our custom writing templates for the AI author and design platform here at Wealthy Affiliate, and I’m thrilled to give you a sneak peek.
Before we get into the details, let’s crack open this week’s beer. Today’s beer is the Reverb West Coast IPA by Phillips. This IPA is one of my favorites: hoppy, with an ABV of 6.4%, and hailing from a fantastic local brewery in Victoria, BC.
What’s New: Custom Writing Templates
Our custom writing templates are designed to make your content creation process more efficient and consistent. We’ve spent the last couple of weeks polishing the structured content platform, refining the user interface and improving the quality of the content generated by our AI author and design platform. Here’s what you can expect:
1. Easy Template Access & Editing
- Access:
- Navigate to the site content platform via the website menu (click on “Site Content”).
- Default Templates:
- You’ll find several pre-made templates that we’ve already shared with you, such as our recipe style template, long-form sales copy, and how-to guides.
- Customization:
- You can edit any default template or create your own from scratch. Simply click “Edit” on a template, make your changes, and save it as a new custom template.
- Real-World Application:
- For example, I’ve set up a recipe template that includes an image at the top, a frequently asked questions section, step-by-step instructions, and a conclusion. This structure ensures consistency across all similar articles.
2. AI-Driven Content Generation with Templates
- Template Integration:
- When you create new content, you can select a template from the “Choose Template” option at the top of the AI author platform.
- Efficiency & Consistency:
- Once a template is selected, the AI generates your article following the exact structure of the template.
- Example:
- I recently created a recipe article titled “Best Air Fryer Chicken Wings Recipe” using a custom template. The article came out with all the expected elements - FAQs, recipe tips, a conclusion, and even integrated images automatically generated based on the content context.
3. Cost-Efficiency & Credit Management
- Transparent Credit Use:
- The platform displays the AI credit cost for generating content (e.g., 775 words uses 775 AI credits plus additional credits for images).
- No Overcharge Policy:
- If your article exceeds the estimated word count by up to 50%, you won’t be charged extra. This ensures you get maximum value from your credits.
4. Versatility Across Content Types
- Multiple Templates:
- Our system supports various content types such as product reviews, listicles, how-to guides, and long-form sales copy.
- Reusability:
- Once you nail down a high-performing template, you can replicate that structure across different topics, saving you tons of time and effort while maintaining consistency on your website.
How to Get Started
- Access the Platform:
- Go to your site content dashboard by clicking “Site Content” in the menu.
- Select or Create a Template:
- Browse through the available templates in the Templates section. Edit a default template or create a new one tailored to your needs.
- Generate Content:
- Choose your template when starting a new article via the AI author platform. The system will generate your article based on the selected template’s structure.
- Edit & Publish:
- Once the content is generated, review, polish, and then publish your article. The streamlined process allows you to create multiple articles quickly and efficiently.

This is a very exciting update. I'm looking forward to putting it to good use. I have a few drafts on articles that I want to post but I would love to use the new templates. Is there a way an article can be rewritten or reformatted without using my AI credits to rewrite them?
You would need to use AI credits, as they would be brand new articles that you are creating. Something to consider if you can budget for it is a P+ membership, as you get 3x the credits (30,000 per month) if you find yourself running low on a monthly basis.
Just something to consider. ;)
If you want to have the content re-writen for you then you will need to use the Ai credits.
Otherwise you can always create the content yourself or use other Ai outside or WA and get help there for your ideas, creating content and then make the necessary adjustments to make it your style of writing and humanise it.
Although the Ai here is good if you are worried about using too much AI credits, then other Ai may be your choice
You can try ChatGPT, Perplexity and Co-Pilot as great ways to create ideas, templates, and content for you as I mentioned above
Don't restrict your opportunites in one place if you want to save credits for example

I've been playing with the new templates and am really loving them! The only issue I have is the articles being produced now for me are far more superior than the rest of the articles on my site from before! making me wonder now if I want to redo them. Any suggestions if that would be a easy task?
You can always return to past articles and rewrite them. You can look at it two ways.
If your post is not ranking, providing more valuable content and having it reindexed is a good idea.
Also, on-page SEO is always a good idea; if your post is not structured the same way and you would like your audience to experience the new structure, you can update the older content to reflect the new structure.
Just a thought.

Yeah, you can always rewrite past articles if you want. That is something that you are in complete control of here John, as Michael indicated. Or moving forward, the quality could just go up moving forward.

I have just seen this and will now look to implement it into my content creation.
Articles will look so much better but more importantly, carry a theme or style replicated throughout the website. I think that is a good thing.

Yeah, exactly. It is far improved, and have more control over design than ever, something that we wanted to put into your hands. I would love to hear your feedback after you have tried it as well, so please do follow-up Richard. :)
Pretty awesome stuff , I did a blog, saved it to a site, edited in Block .
I wanted the leading image supplied changed in size from Full to medium but it wont allow this. It lets me add an alt image wording .
I suddenly had a thought and copied the image to my file and then reintroduced it>
Different image and much smaller.
I would presume an easy fix
The images are full width, it won't copy small images and if they are too small, they will not be recognized. You want full width images within your blog for mobile purposes and design reasons.
But after you get the image, you can adjust the size and make it smaller, crop it, etc. So this is something that you can do after the fact. :)
