Beer With Kyle: A Preview of the New Communities!

In today’s update, I share some exciting news on our new training environments at Wealthy Affiliate, featuring a streamlined core training UX and a sneak peek at our Communities feature, which ties directly into our points system and leaderboards.
Beer of the Week
Before we get rolling though, this week’s beer is Teddy’s Boxing and Fitness Million Dollar Baby, a collab between Teddy’s Boxing and Small Gods Brewery. This cosmic punch hazy pale ale (5.5% ABV) pours hazy and tastes punchy, perfect for spring and summer.
Streamlined Core Training & Classes
Our team has been working hard on upgrading the core training environment and class series. Here’s what you need to know:
- Simplified UX: Training modules no longer pop up unexpectedly, so you can follow along with tutorials without losing your place.
- Clean Layout: Redesigned video tutorials and series are organized for easy access, letting you focus on learning.
- Seamless Integration: Core training is now accessible directly from your hubs and communities, cutting down extra clicks and improving your workflow.
Introducing Communities: Focused Learning & Creatorship
We’re rolling out a brand‑new Communities tab. Communities bring all topic‑related content. This includes blog posts, videos, classes, and discussions... into one place.
Here’s why it matters:
- Topic‑Based Organization: Join communities for SEO, YouTube, social media, and more. All relevant content and activity for that topic appears in your sidebar.
- Creatorship & Contribution: Easily create blog posts, questions, or videos within each community. Your activity boosts your points, earnings, and leaderboard rank.
- Elastic & Scalable: As new trends emerge, we’ll spin up new communities to keep you ahead of the curve with real‑time updates.
This is going to take the creatorship, the community, and the training to another new level here at WA. The most current training in the industry, but the experts that are in the trenches. :)

That was the first goal, better organization, but also allowing people to learn about specific topics that they wanted to learn about and gain expertise, and then, as you establish expertise to showcase your knowledge within these environments and earn status points and even revenue within the community!
Like the look of the new communities and excited for the rollout.
Everyone is at a different level with their online journey and breaking down the communities so they can immerse themselves in what they're trying to master is brilliant.

That is certainly the case Karen, everyone has a different level of experience and knowledge here, and everyone wants to learn different topics as well!
Kyle, this is REALLY super awesome! I love the fact that we can have training /questions / short videos under the same community about that topic! This will make our life so much easier indeed!
I have a question for you: will we be able to open a community on a topic that is not covered or will we ask to you to do so? This is not very clear to me!
Hey Romy, one of the great things about the communities is that they’ll be able to evolve as there is the need for more topics.
So if a new platform gain popularity within the online world, we can start to cover that within the training and involve and remain elastic as the industry changes.
So basically you’re gonna get the most current Training and access to experts, and also be able to obtain and showcase your expertise across any facet related to online business!

It looks like you and the team, have been exceptionally busy, Kyle, I can see there is lots going on in this new update! I must admit that everything looks really good, I'm looking forward to seeing all the new features. The communities section looks really helpful, it's great that you can add new communities if the need arises.

Happy Easter to you as well Roy! Our team has been very busy behind scenes, and the communities are going to add a new level of organization and allow folks here to establish expertise across any facet of online business that they want.
As for the Activity dashboard, that will remain very much the same and the top 10 will still be there. We may have new integrations and homepage cards, but we won't be taking away anything that is existing. :)

I'm sure that the team has been very busy, Kyle, I'm guessing this may be your biggest update ever on the platform. I really like the new look and functionality of the Wealthy Affiliate platform from what I can see.
That sounds good, I liked running through the top 10 blog posts almost daily. I don't read them all, but I certainly glance at the headlines and take my pick!
