Amazon Affiliate Program
Hi everyone, Happy Friday! I wanted to share something that I stumbled upon this past Friday in the Live Chat area. I was trying to help a new member, as I am quite new too. She was in the Lesson that teaches you how to sign up with affiliate programs. A fellow member told her not to sign up to an Affiliate Program until she had at least 10 visitors a day to her site. That confused me because if she has ANY visitor how can they make any purchases without an affiliate link? Maybe I don't understand this and if so, PLEASE leave a comment. :)
The member also said something that REALLY GOT MY ATTENTION! He said Amazon will close your website if you no sales in 3 months. AAAHHHH!!
Being the curious person I am and I certainly do not want to mess up with Amazon, I decided to email Amazon Customer Service about my inquiry. I am very glad to share this with anyone, especially new members. It put me at ease for sure! Sorry for how large this picture is! I tried to decrease the size but had difficulty.. Like I said, I am new at all this! :)
I hope this helps!!
Best Regards,
Kristy

Thank you for the information. I was under the impression it was 3 months as well, so this is a relief!
Well done Kristy for contacting Amazon and sharing their reply here.
That is a great help for new to Amazon members.
That happened to me but I had no problem with re-applying! And 180 days is 6 months not 3 isn't it?!
Yes!!! Plenty of time to get your website up and running and with corrections as needed. And only 3 sales..!
If you don't make the required sales, you can re-apply. Been there, done that. Amazon is one affiliate that is great to start with because they do allow 180 days to make 3 sales.
My apologies! NOT a new member but someone who has been in the position and learned from it! .. it’s all a learning experience. That’s what is so rewarding..
Yes, great to know this!! It made me feel good to know we have 6 months and worst case scenario we can reapply.. :)
Thanks for sharing this, Kristy. I had an Amazon Affiliate account with another website that was worthless and I did not know how to do any of the things I'm learning here then, and thus, no sales and they closed my account. When I get to that lesson in the training, I will ask how I need to proceed to reinstate my account. They said I can, but like you, I don't know how to get sales or referrals to their site if I don't have an account with them. Will cross that bridge in a week or two when I am working on that lesson. Carol
It’s a learning experience for sure. I learn something every day! It sounds like you do the exact same as when you initially apply to the Amazon Affiliate program. If not, let us know..
Will do. I think that's right...I'll have to reapply when I am ready. The thing that puzzles me, though, is how do I meet their criteria for sales to qualify for their program.
From what I have read, we need 3 sales in a 6 month, 180 day, period to remain in their program. You can do it!!!
Guess the way to achieve that is to have other affiliate programs besides Amazon. I have 2 other ones that I need to learn how to get the code onto my website. Hope to work on that next week.
I signed up for two others and now I better check their policy :) I think one is Share A Sale. I think it’s only Affiliate Marketer’s websites so pretty neat to help everyone ..
Glad you said something I thought maybe I wasn't reading it right. I saw that and decided to forgo Amazon. I'll check again. I'm picky though. Need to find just the right products. And I will review each one. Thank You for the info. I'll have to check again. Also thought I seen something about being exclusive.?
You’re welcome! I understand being picky. It’s nice to know Amazon will give you a second chance. Sometimes things happen.. What do you mean about being exclusive?

Hello Kristy, yes that is the same message I received from Amazon. Yes they did close my account due to lack of referrals or sales. The positive is that I can resubscribe once I am ready.
You, too, Harvey?
Yes that is very reassuring to know!
