Earn a Little Money Whilst Checking Your Bing/Yahoo Rankings

One of my websites (http://freeswagsites.com) contains reviews and user guides relating to Cashback and Reward websites (Swagbucks etc).

Swagbucks is a nice way to earn a "little" extra cash if you have spare time - I don't use it very much at the moment as I am busy creating content for my sites. (I used to earn about $60 per month spending about 1 hour per day answering surveys etc. and if you are struggling to pay the WA monthly fees, this might be something to look into)

However, I still use the "Search facility" to earn points that can then be converted into Paypal cash, iTunes vouchers etc.

Although the search bar is branded as "Swagbucks", it actually uses the Bing/Yahoo engine under the hood. This morning it suddenly dawned on me that I could use this search engine to check on Bing/Yahoo competition and my own keyword rankings whilst getting paid to do so.

Swagbucks is free to join and you can also get paid for referrals.

Obviously, I won't put my own referral link in this blog post since that would breach WA rules. There are plenty of referral codes on the internet if you search for them and you get bonus sign-up points if you use one as opposed to signing up directly with Swagbucks. Just don't fall for the "sign-up here and get $1,000,000 bonus BS" that some idiots put on their reviews.

So, I just thought that I would mention this little tip since when you are not yet earning enough affiliate commissions to cover your WA fees, every little contribution helps.

Good luck

PS. I think that it's ok for me to mention my own site in the blog post since it's not an affiliate link, but if someone thinks otherwise I will remove it.

This is useful. Thanks : )

I was very keen to join Swagbucks but unfortunately South Africans don't qualify. It seems like a really good program. Thanks for sharing, I'm sure a lot of members will find it very useful Kristian. Lydia.

It's a bit boring to have to do the tasks and don't let it distract your from working on your site(s) too much, but as you say every little helps when you're starting out and trying to pay your WA fees each month. Good luck and let me know how you get on.

Going to check it out tomorrow, when I have some quiet time at work. Would be great to make a little money on the side

Thank you for the information!

worth taking a look at, as you say every little bit counts

There is also a program called crowdflower which is one that can earn money from doing micro tasks. I have never used it though but I attended a digital jam lecture about it.

I am always amazed by the fact that these companies choose to restrict their market in this way. Their loss.

I have tried swagbucks and other similar programs. The problem with them is that swagbucks and many similar programs are only for US, Canada and UK people. If you are from other part of the world, often these doors are closed :(

But thank you anyway :)
