I'm the type of person who is plagued with curiosity to a fault. I often want to learn about things but then get easily distracted either by something that comes up during my daily routine or by something new that I want to find out more about. When I go to a website, it is easy to become consumed with clicking on the many links and pictures that the site may have available.
When I joined Wealthy Affiliate, I got excited because I saw Links to classrooms and certifications courses. What did that mean to me? Structure. Step-by-step. I would be told which direction to go in instead of "getting lost in the forest and having to find my way back."
For some of us, this is not our first rodeo with an online business so it could be easy to view the content of a lesson and think...."Oh I already know that," or "I've heard that before," and skip to the next lesson or skip around and do lessons out of order. I feel that a huge disservice occurs when anyone does that.
Although some of these lessons contain a lot of information that I HAD already heard before, Kyle/Carson have painstakingly (It may not have really been painstaking to them, but it would have been for me) created these courses so that the process of learning how to market wouldn't be so overwhelming for people with no success during their online experiences...like myself.
Each time I viewed a video or read a blog post that was recommended, I've learned something new, or I gained an improved understanding of the few terms that I had been exposed to.
I challenge each affiliate to truly pace themselves and follow the path laid out for us with the courses offered here, and we will significantly lower the risk of frustration and sense of overwhelm that we possibly would be subject to with attempts to learn marketing on our own.
