A Negative Can Always Become A Positive

I also have a lawn care company and I'm working on rebuilding that site as well, while I'm going through my training at WA. The second site listed, I set up as a partnership for a great employee that moved out of my area as a partnership and eventually walked away, once I got back my initial investment, I handed over my part of the business as a token of my appreciation for all of his hard work. Good employees are hard to find. He now has his very own successful lawn care company and I plan on having lunch with him very soon to talk about Wealthy Affiliate.

www.kaserpropertyservices.com and www.ryderlawncare.com are both getting rebuilt as I go through my training here.

Once I got tired of paying people to run, with very poor results, www.kaserpropertyservices.com, I cut ties, figured out how to get in. I got some tips from some people I know about how to show up (seo) and started writing. Kps was close to the top of the page on google in one month. I didn't realize until this happened, how little this company actually did for my money. When I put RLC together, I spent just over a 100 hrs in two weeks writing and it took the first spot under google maps in all 7 areas we service around Union County, I did some research, well a lot of research, to find out why my comp. was showing up and made sure I had more.

Both sites still show up and generate a decent amount of business but aren't performing the way they were, since I started my training at WA, I deleted them and I'm staring fresh. RLC is small and functional right now, about what you would expect from a small lawn care company but it went from 66 pages to 1. I have everything saved in google drive and can get it up pretty fast if I want to. Google ratings soar when you rebuild a website and start building it better for some reason. Since I stumbled across WA and did a few training courses I basically wrapped RLC up for now and I'm building KPS from scratch as I build my first site here.

I want to move both lawn care sites to this platform as soon as possible if I can. It was a pain in the butt to move KPS from who built it to someone that did marketing and told me how much it sucked. After all the crap he talked, his company built me a crappy site through word press (not saying word press sites are crappy, just his!). To make it worse, his site didn't show up on google unless you typed it out but the free one I had first, popped up on the 2nd and third page here and there.

The owner of the company was the one who initially approached me and asked if I would like to trade landscaping services for a professionally built, high traffic website. He sold himself as a major marketer and could make my business blow up like I wouldn't believe. Of course I jumped on it. A little work for something that's going to make my phone ring off the hook and cut down on late nights hanging flyers on mailboxes. It seemed like a no brainer but ended up being quite a disappointment and a fight to get him to let my site go. After paying for the site he was charging me twice as much as the premium membership at Wealthy Affiliate for hosting and a list of stuff that wasn't being done. Guess It's hard to blame him, if he could convince a 100 people like me to give him a $100 a month to do nothing, that's quite a gig, LOL, joke was on me.

When we sat down to go over how much time he had in the site, the first thing he said was, "writing is worth $100 an hr and what you do is worth $12 an hr so you owe me an 8 hr day for every hr I put in". Needless to say I blew a gasket and we settled for $1000. He wanted $2000 but I got several quotes to build a similar site for $500 or less and half of the people that gave me quotes quickly pointed out over 10 mistakes and three of them tried to email through the site but got, page not found. Today I'm happy I had this horrible experience because it drove me to learn more about online marketing and seo for myself.

The next thing I knew, sales were going through the roof from the content I had written myself. All I did, was write about what I know and make sure it was keyword rich content. Once I had more content than my competition, I started showing up before them on google by just typing what I already knew. The meaning of this story is, don't let something bad keep you down. You can always learn from a negative and turn it into a positive.

Thanks again for the feedback. Sorry about the long story at the end here but it seemed like a good experience to share with WA. I will probably share this to other people to help as an example of how valuable this training would have been to me before I was approached by someone that is simply out to take advantage of whoever he can and squeeze every penny out of them he can get. These guys are out there.

It only took me a few days of training to decide the sites I built, which performed well and generated lots of business weren't even close to the potential they will be after I get through more training with WA.

Content saved, both sites deleted and starting fresh with the knowledge I wish I had years ago!

And Thanks to WA, I'm very happy I found this site
