Happy Accident?
I’ve been pretty occupied with writing content for my website, YummyPetal.com. And so far, I’ve been fairly happy with the things I’ve published, as well as the pieces I have yet to put out. But there is one section that’s given me a bit of grief.
As I was putting the finishing touches on my site in order to post it on WA for feedback, a very dear friend of mine called. I got on the phone, chatting and clicking away semi-absentmindedly when schwoooop! Home page deleted. Now, I wasn’t completely heartbroken, but I also wasn’t thrilled that I had to write the whole thing over. And when I say that, I actually mean create an entirely new one because it had been so long since I’d first started it that I didn’t even remember what it said. And I didn’t store a copy of it, which was surprisingly unlike me.
Though it was a little annoying that I was careless enough to let that happen, I just sucked up my moderate anguish and wrote a new one. The good thing about this mistake is that it forced me to create a light-hearted version of my home page, which is more analogous with the tone of Yummy Petal than the straight-laced original.I’ve asked for feedback on the site, so I’m hoping that these changes will have been in my favor. If not, it’s back to the drawing board!

Christina your website colors are very calming. These might be some ideas for you to include if you think they might serve your site's needs: how to brew teas properly (I brew way too long) and maybe the unique types of teas like the ones that come from bulbs and open up. Just a thought since I really need to learn about teas. I love that you know people of different worlds & cultures.

Hi Christina - Always check your trash - to see if you have completely deleted - people often don't.
Like the name of your website. You have interesting well written content.
Two things I would consider - increasing the size of your font - which I think is too small. You also need to look at your images, which are too small and awkwardly positioned on the left. Sorry - I know you didn't ask for comments :) Beverley
Hi Beverly, thanks for your feedback. I actually did ask for it, on one of the discussion boards. I do plan on making adjustments to the appearance, but I'm wrestling with the odd theme defaults. And yeah...I permanently deleted the home page because I thought it was a spare draft. That's how clear-minded I was. :p
