More Tech Stuff: Confused and Relieved
I've been publishing fairly consistently for the past month or so, which means I'm in the publishing dashboard every couple of days. I noticed that some of my most recent posts were taking a long time to get indexed by Google - great feature, by the way!
I kept publishing more posts and one of them was indexed, but most still remained unnoticed by Google.
What was going on?
A couple of weeks ago, I made the switch to Google Analytics 4. That didn't make any difference.
Last night, I finally bestirred myself to log into my Google Analytics dashboard and try to figure out what was going on. According to Google, something I was doing, or not doing, was telling Google to ignore my posts!
Awk!
I rushed over to my site's backend to try to figure out what was going on. I didn't find any obvious "noindex" commands.
I went into each post that hadn't been indexed and did a bunch of minor editing, made sure there were tags, the SEO summary was done, did some other cleaning up as needed. Every time I did that the post magically appeared to Google.
Now all of my posts are indexed!
Why? What went wrong?
No idea. But I will definitely be putting more effort into editing each post after it's published on my site!

Thanks for sharing this! I am totally surprised that most of mine have not been indexed. I wondered if there is a class about that somewhere... mmm I may have to go and look! Thanks for the heads up!
Hi Kathie,
Kyle covers Google Analytics in the Online Entrepreneur Certification, Level 5, I think.
Jay covers backend stuff in at least a couple of his classes. I think there's some good stuff in the "Research to Profits Case Study." It's mostly about how to set it up properly to begin with, but I found the review helpful.
Hope this helps!
