Another Childhood Hero Passed Away - Life Is Short
Feeling sad and sentimental. In the past few years, so many childhood heroes have passed away. I´ve been a Star Wars fan since I was 9. Star Wars helped me through some dark times.
Not so long ago, Carrie Fisher and Kenny Baker passed away. Now, it was Peter Mayhew´s turn. Any other Star Wars fans here feeling sad today?
Actors make fictional characters come alive. They start feeling like old friends. And when their time comes, it feels like losing an old friend. Rest in peace, Peter Mayhew.

I remember very well watching the first Star Wars movie. I was with my girlfriend and our best friends at the time. Typically we never stopped talking, even through movies, but this time no one said a word from the moment the movie started until it ended. And when it ended, there was complete silence among the entire audience. And then someone started clapping and within seconds everyone was on their feet and clapping. I had not experienced anything like that before nor have I since, particularly with a British audience. Chewy was a major reason for the success of that movie.
