To go Premium or Not?? -- That is the question!

I can only write this post as I have been given another 7 days access to Premium services. You see I am a starter member. I didn't make the decision to go premium. I'm overly cautious by nature, just being on this site is a risk for me. So now I'm here contemplating whether or not to take the plunge.

Let's start with what me reservations would be to going premium.

1) US$47 per month translates to TT$298 per month. Now for me that's more than my two month electricity bill; more than my internet monthly package; more than my monthly cable subscription; more than my cell phone plan.

2) If I chose to invest this money, how long will it take me to reap rewards from it. Let's be real none of us came to this site to sit around and read and watch videos. We came to learn yes, but to learn with the expectation that this would be a good investment and for me my time is more valuable than money.

3) There appears to be a wealth of information to be gathered from the WA community. (Again this could just be a tease and when you do go premium the information is vague or useless) (Did I mention I'm also very skeptical about anything that is not a widespread proven, tried and true established method)

4) I can only post on this blog when I go premium. :) (or maybe I should be upset with Kyle and Carson for teasing me with it and then telling me "oh no, ha ha ha, you have to pay for this. Silly girl.")

5) The site is so informative, and easy to use and understand.

6) If I take the TT$298 per month and invest it in a retirement fund, I could have approximately $250000 by the time I'm 50 (I'm 25 currently) and that is assuming a 4.5% interest rate per annum. Now given that I would have to do absolutely nothing but invest that $298 that saves me time. But then I would still be working 9-5 which is what I want to get out of.........hmm!

7) If this works it could offer me a highly flexible and versatile source of income that could free me from the bondage that is a 9-5 job.

8) In the short term it would be a bit detrimental to my social life, but if this works I should have more time to spend with family and friends. Shouldn't I?

So, now I hope I can get everyone in the community to weigh in and tell me form there experience, how worth it is Premium membership??

I just realized the last sentence should read "......and tell me from his r her experience...." It may seem anal retentive that I corrected it, but I was really embarrassed when I saw the error. Also I know not all the sentences were properly constructed but those were actually intentional. (now I feel OC .... *shame face*)

Very good post! I say wait, if you're unsure about it you just wait and learn what you can in the meantime by checking out courses asking questions and just trying to build simple websites at the start. If you have a low budget you could focus on trying to research some niches make two good sites and when you're making enough money to support premium you can upgrade. It's a scary thing as I've been nearly on every scam site and pyramid schemes before. But I really don't regret it for a second. My page is coming along nicely and the Keyword tool, Blog posts and everything else you get with premium has been worth it. I get loads of help when i need it and i really do love it. But work hard and dedicate yourself to generating an online income and you will make it! :)

Thanks so much for the response. Would you mind giving me some insight into how your family / social life has changed, if it has changed, and how do you perceive your overall quality of life now (if it has changed at all)

My family situation really hasn't changed, my social life has tho, I've gotten a lot of new friends here. But im really willing to work for it to change and i wont stop before im on the top.

Great post Kiona. From my own experience, I am so glad I chose to upgrade to Premium. It has been well worth it and I will continue to be at this membership level for a very long time. In any business you will need to invest time, effort and capital to create a financially viable and sustainable business. You can build your online business at the Starter level and learn a wealth of information and then make a decision as to whether to upgrade or not. Have you read "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki? That book answers most of what you have written about. Wishing you every success. Kevin

Thanks so much for the response. I have "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" on my to read list, thanks.

I have a great quality of life now. I have been working online full-time since 2002. I can work around my family and do the school run lol. :) I've been there to see my daughter grow up and go to school. It's wonderful, no boss, no 9 to 5, no daily commute into London. I can choose the hours I want to work.

In saying that, I sacrificed a huge amount of time away from my family and friends building my businesses in the beginning. I would work 16+ hour days and it's tough building and sustaining an online business particularly if your household is relying on your income. It's not for everyone and only a tiny percentage can make a decent income out of it to work full time in this industry. There is a huge drop out rate and I really look up to entrepreneurs like Kyle, Carson and others here who work this full-time. You have to give it your all!
