Challenges and Conteplating changing My Niche
I've been working on my site for about a month and a half. I think it's starting to look like an actual site. However, there are a couple of challenges that I am running into and I am considering changing my Niche.
Zenimperium.com is about being more sustainable and getting the kids involved while being a city dweller. It will focus on composting, chickens and gardening. However, my challenge is I don't have chickens or a garden, both of which I have been something I've really wanted in my life, which is why I chose this Niche. Also, this is very late in the season for both. I could get chickens now, but how many people can have chickens in the city and I wonder if I would be wasting time and effort.
There is a lot of research since I am very new to both chickens and gardening and it's taking forever to think about content. The stuff I want to write about is more about nature and kids and how to get them into it. I don't think it will be too hard to switch and integrate chickens and gardening at a later time.
Does anyone have suggestions? Should I start a new site and forget the gardening and chickens, or should I keep the one I have and amend it?

Hi Kimberly
I think that you would be doing your work thus far an injustice by changing now,
I think you are doing well and should keep at it,
I would not recommend a new website, as I believe to perfect 1 then copy the success with another niche further down the line is the way to do it.
Besides, you should know by now how much time is needed to build 1 quality site, judging by your achievement with this website.
I visited and am well impressed, I left a comment.
I wish you all the best with your future, for it is looking good so far.
All the best Kimberly
Gary
I saw your comment, Gary and I'm glad you commented here because I was just trying to find you to follow you. I did check your site out and it, too is impressive. May I ask how long you have been working on it and has it proven to bring in an income? Thank you for your comments and suggestions!
Hi Kimberly
I have been building my website for just under 5 months, and started utilising video recently, all my own recordings of repair procedures as I am a 30+ year Auto Mechanic, and have loads of recorded footage, and it is really starting to come in handy now.
I have an income from my SA affiliates, promoting car insurance, but there is always room for expansion, Adsense also pays me but very little at this stage.
I am in the beginning stages, but I see a bright financial future ahead, I only have 1 website and I believe it is enough, so I put a lot of effort into it to make it the best I can.
I will persevere as this business tends to snowball at some stage and I am working toward that.

Thanks Gary! I recently quit my job and I have about a year to get this site off the ground and make an income of at least half of what I was making at my corporate job to survive. This weighs heavily on my mind. I appreciate your info!
Omg! I love your site! You've done so much work up to this point and I think you could go either way honestly. This is all a learning process and you're still in the beginning process (such as myself) so everything is fresh in your mind and shouldn't take too long for you to create another site if you choose that route ( I could also see you just adding pages and go in to more details about the kids, etc). Please keep the website you do have for a later time if you decide to make another one because it's awesome! Good luck and keep us posted:)!
why don't you keep this one and try the nature and kids 1 next. Its better to have more sites which will increase your revenue over time as opposed to keeping all your eggs in 1 basket....Pardon the pun lol...Site is looking good!!
Thank you for your suggestion. I need something that will be more engaging now, though and all my ideas for posts are about getting out into nature with your kids. I might just integrate now and spin off of it later.

I think you should continue with this site; It looks good.
You mentioned you wanted to make this applicable to city dwellers.
There chicken coops that are small enough to go on a patio or balcony. there are also composting bins that are good for what is needed for an average flower box herb garden.
Clickbank has some digital products, as far as training goes and, of course, Amazon has the actual durable goods.
Thank you. I'll check clickbank out. Yes, my intentions are writing about adjusting a country life to a city life. I just need to keep my research going and keep it up. Thanks for lighting that path more for me.
