Mini-devotion for Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013
Mini-devotion for Sunday, Jan. 6, 2012, Titus 2: 11-15, KJV, "For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee." When we deny ungodliness and worldly lusts, we are resisting the devil, and God's Word tells us that when we resist Satan he will flee from us. When we live righteously, we are living in right relationship with others. When we live godly, we are being holy, and God says, "Be ye holy, for I am holy." We are looking for the return of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His glorious appearing. We need to reflect on how Jesus died for us on the cross of Calvary, as well as everything He endured during that process. All of this was accomplished by God's matchless, wonderful, majestic grace.
