Mini-devotion for Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, Galatians 1:15-19, KJV, "But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus. Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days. But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother." The Apostle Paul, in writing this epistle to the church at Galatia, observes that from his mother's womb, he had been called by God's grace for that grace to reveal Jesus in him and that he would preach Jesus to the heathen. None of us is the Apostle Paul. Each of us, however, has a call on his or her life from our mother's womb. What has God separated you from the womb to accomplish: to be a pastor, evangelist, teacher, construction worker, chef, government leader, assembly line worker, etc.? Whether we preach from behind a pulpit desk, or whether we proclaim Christ from the pulpit of our daily lives, God has separated us from our mother's womb to be dedicated, consecrated, and committed unto Him. As this new year begins to unfold and take on a life of its own, may we go forth in the power of the Holy Spirit to proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord.
