Mother's Day Comes ...

Mothers day!

A widely celebrated holiday, but one fraught with indecision about what to get someone that has spent hundreds to thousands of pulled out hairs on raising you. Well, I am no different when it comes to not knowing what to get someone that is "just right" for them.

Not only am I in the lowest income bracket, but I have a mother that literally wants nothing particular. One of the things that I have come to know about her though, is that she wants to do like I am and learn how to run her very own business and hopefully become a success at it. So what did I do? She's not ready to join WA herself, as there is just so much to learn and she happens to be the sort that needs a teacher to literally point to her screen in front of her.

So what I did was made her a sub under my site for her to work with and grow while she learns ~smiles~ When she's happy with it, it will easily transfer over to her very own domain when she is confident to run it.

Talk about tickled pink! I got her all set up so there is little back-end work on the site to do other than make posts, and made her first posts myself (from my own admin - not hers) that was an adorable Happy Mom's Day greeting to her.

Granted, it will take her time to understand how to work all the shiny new toys - but it's all hers. And you know what? It made me even more confident in my own abilities about the things I have learned so far here in WA. I was able to set it up in a couple of hours, with its first post. Then I was able to explain to her how to do her own posts to where she actually understood it! Not only is she elated and tickled pink, but so am I ~beams~

If it was not for WA and all there is to learn, and the wonderful community that has SO much help when you get stuck - I would not be sitting here right now ready to roll!

Thank you WA! And may this coming Mother's Day be a blessing not just to moms but to everyone!

Very nice post. My mom is 88 years old and when I gave her a computer several years ago, it sat unused for probably 6 months. Then I showed her Facebook and how she could keep in touch with all the grand kids, and great-great grand kids. Today, she is on FB, and she texts like crazy. You would have thought she was a teenager. If I get a text with all of that cryptic short cut language I will take her phone away. Ha!

On your side, Kham, I've always learned more from teaching than from being taught. This is a great way for both of you to learn and you will become the expert. Awesome!

Good luck with that, and be sure to keep patient with her.

Thank you ~smiles~ I agree, it is easier to learn as we teach some times. I just wish I was better able to teach her how to make her graphics work for her pages. That is where the patience will come into play.

Its wonderful to hear your mom is having fun with the texting and such at her ripe young age!

You are so cool. I love this story. please keep us updated....

I will add her site to my short list of sites on my profile ~smiles~ She's still very green, but I know she will do well. I will gladly keep this one updated, and thank you on the compliment as well
