Beware Of The Shiny Object Syndrome
The Shiny Object Syndrome has been one of the things destroying my success personally without even realizing it. I was aware of the concept the whole time yet I still fell into the trap.
Be careful! Shiny Object Syndrome is deadly and relatively undetectable; it calls for a real SOS.
What Is Shiny Object Syndrome?
For those of you that don't know what Shiny Object Syndrome is, it is when you see something that sounds cool and you take action and then a little bit later, you see something else that's related and decide to take action upon that.
The most common example is entrepreneurs buying into different coaching programs and courses designed to help make you more money. My personal example was when I got into Wealthy Affiliate, about a month later, I bought into E-commerce and dropshipping with Shopify and Aliexpress. Although I learned a lot, I gained no results.
Beware!
Many times we don't even realize until it's too late that we have been caught up in the syndrome. If I never caught this, then I would have been using all the money from my job to invest into stocks. Which over time would build up. But here I am spending all my money on random fees for different software and coaching programs in various places.
My advice for you is to master a certain concept before you start on something else.
Even if you only focus on affiliate marketing, you can get caught up in different various schemes and methods designed to make you money. Choose one and stick with it until it actually makes you money. Otherwise you'll be in a never ending loop.
If anybody has read my past posts, you may have noticed that I wrote a lot about design goals and learning things like web development. Well that's another example of Shiny Object Syndrome. For now I'll focus on putting posts out instead of trying to build things with untimely goals.

Kevin, me too! I went off on a six month wild goose chase with... wait for it, a legalized hemp oil MLM. Something I thought I could incorporate into my website.
Needless to say, I dropped $2000 on samples that I had a hard time GIVING away. Only to have the company tell me I had 3 days to remove their product off my website.
I gave them three days of canceling my membership with them in return! Shiny Object Syndrome to the max!

Yep it can suck getting into these situations. My recent one was ClickFunnels, although legit company, I didn't have the money to keep investing into more things.
And a lot of those Shiny Objects do want a little more and a little more here and there! Until you realize YOU'RE the customer with the deep pockets! Hehehehe I'll stay away from ClickFunnels! Maybe you should do a product review on them.
I already did a review of their affiliate program and actually it's one of the best I've seen. The product is very good and you can promote their products without buying anything.
