The Life Of An Internet Marketer!

Do you find you're always checking your stats?

Do you wake up in the morning (or the middle of the night) and the first thing you do is check your phone to see whether you had a new commission, new sale or a new referral?

Do you constantly think of new marketing strategies to propel your business forward?

Well that's the life of an Internet marketer. It's not for the faint of heart. It literally is a 24/7 lifestyle.

A typical 9 to 5 job, you can possibly switch of work mode when you finish for the day. Maybe, even enjoy your weekends. To coin a famous phrase, "a weekend, what's that?"

With an online business it's different especially if you have set yourself short-term and long term goals that you have to achieve.

When running your own online business full-time, a Monday feels like a Saturday, Sunday feels like Wednesday.

You may not experience those Sunday evening blues in preparation for the week ahead. In fact, the buzz of building your own online business may feel electrifying at times!

There may come a lot of responsibility when starting and growing your business.

Your sole income, and your family's, may totally derive from what latest blog you post or the effectiveness of your marketing campaigns.

In truth, and to put it bluntly, "the hustle never stops."

You can never switch off from your business. Activity is crucial.

It's like riding a roller coaster. One moment your business could be up and the next it could be down. That's typical though and momentum is key. You always want to keep moving forward.

If you stop working your business, the chances are that your business will start to implode, or never get started.

Entrepreneurs have to think differently and outside the norm. Most successful entrepreneurs that I've met do think differently and it's easy to see why they have achieved their success.

If you're totally immersed in the "entrepreneur" life then chances are that you'll keep your hustle on and make a total success of your goals. No matter what!

Happy hustling. :)

Hi Kevin, you have me pegged, haha, I'm a constant checker to see if my business needs tending to.
You are right there are a lot of things to consider when deciding if you wish to live the life of a true online entrepreneur.

When I was new here, I had to deal with the "dream stealers" ya know, those people who don't believe or who want to tear you down because you decide to put your work ahead of some other mundane things in life.

I am a stay at home mom raising 4-6 kids all beginning from a toddler all the way up ta teens. We have a blended family :) So for me, my work with WA came before the dishes and housework and it still does. The family did not like it and would throw verbal punches because I called it work and was not making money.

My point is, in some cases, you also need a strong backbone and not be afraid to fail, even in the eyes of others.
I never gave up and can smile knowing they now have proof that what I am doing is real work and I deserve respect.

LOL, I have written a lot here but hopefully my story helps some people. This is a perfect lifestyle for me and the guilt I may feel when I sit down to work is no where near the guilt I would feel to pay someone else to sit and watch my kids while I'm off working for a mundane life.

Thanks again for this post Kevin, it is a great read!

Hi Kevin, this is a great, informative post. I especially like the image of the cat at the computer! I would really like to find and use effective images like this one and to write text on the photo as well. There are probably many ways to do this. What ways do you recommend?

Thank you,

Jamie

I liked that thank you.

Thank you Kevin.

You're most welcome Grace.

Thanks for information and best of success

Thank you. Best of success to you too!

Great post and cute cat! Thanks for sharing Keving.

Thanks Eric.

Hello, Kevin,
Great article and you hit the nail on the proverbial head. IM is acutely frustrating because you have to keep at it constantly. I let slide my blogging for a few weeks and my visitor pool dropped straight down. That's one of the great features about WA is that there are a lot of people trying to do the same thing and they provide comfort. Thank you for your interest. Cordially, David

Many thanks David. Glad to hear your thoughts on IM. You're absolutely right about having to keep at it and goal setting is really important too.
