Have I learned enough to want to keep going?

I joined Wealthy Affiliates in April 2018. As with most people, I was a little hesitant about so many things: the money invested, would I have enough time to make it work, what niche would I choose, do I have enough to say about the niche, am I tech savvy enough to understand all that I need to know, will it really earn me money over time….

Even though I work full time and then some, I have been giving as much time as I feel I can afford. Meaning, I work hard at it, but am not willing to sacrifice my current job that I am retiring from in two years, or relationships. Speaking of relationships, I would say that working through WA has helped with some relationships because I have been able to share and talk with others about what I am doing with my website through Wealthy Affiliate.

My niche is lawn games, information such as rules, strategies, variations, some diy to build your own and other topics that relate to being active in the backyard.

The niche relates to my job because I am a Physical Education teacher and I will be able to use the information that I am obtaining through research. I am hoping other Physical Education teachers will see the fun of adding a unit in lawn games to their curriculum. If they do, all the information for over 30 lawn games will be available in one site. I also know that many people like to engage in these types of games while hosting a family gathering or party, so they will be able to get useful information.

My successes may be small at this point, but I consider myself to have been very successful. I am at the end of level 2 training and just about everything they have covered is new to me. I had no prior knowledge of how to create and maintain a website, much less how to correctly write a post. So all the lessons have been great mini success stories each time I finish one. I was very proud when one of my first posts was recognized by Google.

Often I have trouble falling asleep because of all the thoughts that are buzzing through my mind about what I can do with my niche or how to improve. I find myself reading the Live Chat or posts from other members and start thinking ahead of my training, and then I have questions. I know I can keep going in the training and it will probably cover that, but I get impatient and want to get where others already are. So I get side tracked sometimes and that slows down my training speed. I am hoping that I can reign those thoughts and not become so obsessed with it, that it keeps me awake at night.

I have learned that the way the process is set up really fosters the support and encourages people to keep going. I like that the lessons sometimes end with us giving feedback, presenting our website to get comments, asking for followers, or other ideas to know we are on the right path. As the picture depicts above, there are so many helping hands here that I know I have made a good choice. I enjoy not only getting that feedback, but giving it as well.

So my goals for the next 3 months is to continue writing and posting on my website as well as all the social media platforms that I have opened. I hope to find affiliate programs that I can research and incorporate into my website. In six months time, I hope to be refreshing it as we come into the middle of winter, in anticipating of spring and providing my followers with information and guide them to the best place to purchase the lawn games they are reading about. My initial goals that I wrote when I joined WA were small compared to many others, but I am looking down the road to be able to feel successful with the monetary side of this endeavor.

Overall, I am definitely learning enough to keep going with Wealthy Affiliate and look forward to all that I still have to learn.
