Reaffirming My Career Goals
Something happened today at my job and I'm still shook over it. I'm not going to say what happened, but I will discuss how I feel about it.
I'm working in the child care industry right now, and this was what I originally went to college to study. I changed my major after the first semester because I realized that while I believe teachers and education professionals are vital members of our society, this isn't something I want to do for the rest of my life.
I still have my job, but as a result of the event that occurred today, my career goals were re-affirmed. I don't want to be in a job where I'm always afraid that one mistake will end in me getting fired. I want to be my own boss, and if my company or brand loses money, then I'd rather suffer those consequences than be terminated from my position by a higher-up.
I am even more confident in my goal of starting an online business and making money from my personal brand: Diary of a Socially Awkward. It's starting with my blog/website, and my YouTube videos, but once these start to generate a livable wage, I want to expand to other projects. Maybe I'll create a line of cosmetics/fashion, or maybe I'll focus on creating a non-profit organization to help a specific group. I could even do both.
I've had these feelings and goals for a long time, but today everything was re-affirmed. I'm once again 150% motivated to work hard everyday in order to reach my current goal of having a livable wage off of my website/YouTube videos, and later reaching other career goals as they come along.

I guess this incident at work coming on the heels of your Youtube incident didn't help much in the timing department. I can't even imagine why Youtube penalized you.
BTW, I checked out your YT channel, and i think you are an excellent and very entertaining vlogger. I hope they get back to you with some good news about that video in question. And hopefully, things will smooth over at your job, too.

YouTube actually got back to me and they decided I was in the right. The video's back up and my channel's in good standing.
And the work situation didn't happen to me, but I was a witness to it. I don't know why it affected me so much.
