Climbing That Mountain One Foot Hold At A Time
Desire is the key to motivation, but it's determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal - a commitment to excellence - that will enable you to attain the success you seek.
- Mario Andretti
For the last 6-7 weeks I have pushed hard and built, what I feel, is an OK website. However I feel more excited about the fact that I have been able to write about subjects that make myself, my wife, and my son happy. I have posted over and over again about the Geeky things in my life that I truly believe appeal to the masses.
I woke up yesterday to the surprise that 2 orders had been placed on Amazon through my affiliate links. I bit my tongue because I wanted to make sure that it wasn't a fluke. Sure enough when I got up this morning there was my payment! Granted, it wasn't much because I have a feeling they ordered something other than what the link was for. However I'm still going to consider this a success because within 24 hours of them ordering they were on my site! Reading what I wrote and clicking on the link because they were interested!
I am now looking forward to the future! Staring each goal down hard and will continue pounding those keys until I succeed!
Thank you WA! Without all of you I wouldn't have had this HUGE Success. It may not measure high in the dollar amount, but I am considering this a BIG WIN!
Stay Geeky!

well mate that's a great achievement in a short time, I am pushing quite hard myself, its very additive but am taking it a bit slower now.
Thank you Pete! I feel if we keep chugging along only good things can happen eventually. I mean, it has to be better odds than Vegas, right?
I know with great work comes great success so that's what I'm going after now!
Cheers!
Congratulations, Justin. You are definitely on the right tract. Keep on climbing the ladder of success until you get to the top!
Thank you Elizabeth! I will continue on until either my fingers fall off! I hope that when my son is older he sees that persistence and dedication do make a better person!
Cheers!
Your son will definitely see that from you. Children always follow what they see rather than what they hear. So, just keep setting the example. Blessings ~Betcha
Congratulations! I definitely agree desire is a motivating factor. To me the issue is often competing desires. It is the strongest desire that beats out the others and usually gets the most time.
Thank you Rich! I completely understand the competing desires. My desk has a wonderful view point so I can watch my son as he plays. I desire constantly to get in the floor with him but I want him to see what it takes to succeed in this world. 9 times out of 10 though...he wins :). After he sleeps though, it's back to my other desire!
