No more Amazon Affiliate
So, I am no longer an affiliate with Amazon. I didn't sell enough products within the time frame they allotted. I have had some set backs since starting my website 6 months ago. A couple had to do with my health, one big one! The other has to do with my daughter and is ongoing. At any rate, I think I should have waited to join the affiliate program until my site had more traffic for one thing. Plus, I thought that if someone went to my site and clicked on a link and then went to Amazon and ordered anything I would still get an affiliate % and it would count as someone buying off my site. It did not! I know for a fact several purchases have been made this way and it even showed up in my account, but they said I made no money?? AdSense has not paid me a penny either, even though I have read the numbers and there have been hundreds, at this point, of clicks on the ads. I am confused and at the point that I can't continue to invest $50 a month on my website, which makes me sad because it is my dream. I don't know what to do. I'm trying to get back into a routine and work on my site daily, but it's hard with everything going on in my life and I can't put some of the stuff to the side, like my daughter. Should I keep trying or let the site go for now and come back in a few months? Does anyone have any ideas?

I ran out of time too, and no sales. I too, was very sad when it happened to be, then, I had to look at it in a different sense. Yes, definitely take the time you need to regroup.
We all have had to regroup periodically. Feel free to do what's best for you and your child.
As we know riches are not accquied overnight! WA is here when you need to regroup. But, by all means if you can, take advantage of our Black Friday Special! GREAT SAVINGS!
Thank you for your advice :) Everyone has been so friendly! That's one thing I love about WA, I never feel alone. There are always kind people willing to give friendly advice. I appreciate you being one of those people!
Thank you for responding back. I am here to help out the best I can. Need help with something, just go over to the top of your WA dashboard, and type in any question you may have.
Hi Keli, oh... I know that place so well. I have a few suggestions that may help. 1. Find a way to go yearly with WA ont the Black Friday special so you can save heaps of money and take the pressure off you.
2. Open your site up for guest posts & charge a nominal fee of $5 at first on Fiverr. That's been my biggest source of income so far.
3. Sell WA rather than Amazon as earnings are far greater. Do affiliate bootcamp. Best of luck. I'm rooting for you. Xxx
Hey! Thank you for the encouragement. I have been thinking more and more about affiliate bootcamp just to make the money and keep my website at the same time. I might try Fiverr for guest posts, I don't know if anyone would want to blog on my site that badly. I am registered on Fiverr to work but haven't made any money. I just registered on Upwork, so maybe that will ease the burden. I'm sure it will work out somehow. Thank you for the advice!

Hi Keli, if you'd like, you can reapply to Amazon again. There's no waiting period to apply again. That's what I did. I had no sales, ran out of time and reapplied that same day.
Keep putting one foot in front of the other and you'll get where you want to be ion no time.
I wish you all the best,
Sue
Mike, I panicked when I saw that my time had ended, but decided to just try to re-up again and it worked! So now, I have another 180 days...well now it's more like 160 days. :)
and another thing. You can go ahead and reapply with Amazon. It doesn't hurt to ask but when you do this again and you're accepted, make sure you have a friend go to your website and buy something! Even if you reimburse them, at least Amazon will leave you alone. I don't know how ethical it is but it works for many people.
Thank you for your comments and encouragement :) The thing I don't understand with Amazon is someone clicked through my links more than once and bought something, they just didn't buy what the link was for. I thought that still counted? Did I misunderstand something?
as far as I know, it should count but I'd have to check that out. I would recommend reapply and ask a friend to buy what your link is connected to. If you're comfortable doing that...
I don't mind doing that. If it helps my site and me stay connected with Amazon. :) Thank you for the advice :)
Only you can decide what is best for you but I can give you my experience if that helps. I have had starts and stops along the route too and now do internet marketing (IM) full time.
At first, I was very motivated and the learning curve got to me a bit. So I used a daily planner and didn't give up. I kept my full time regular job to subsidize my IM cravings. This helped take the stress from money out of the picture but my time was limited. My daily planner had a list of a few things I could get done on my site. Just nibbling at it every day got me somewhere just not as fast as I liked. I made sure I did some training every few days to keep up with wordpress and the like. I also spent a few bucks on outsourcing content so I could get more blogs done quicker.
So if you want to keep up with your dream, try doing a little bit each day or set aside a few days a week, 1 hour at a time. You'll be surprised that you'll make some progress at least. Then when life settles down, you can spend more time on it. Hope that helps.

You seem to be going through some stuff and almost everyone can relate. I am on yearly and did the 'credit pay' through Paypal, which helped me stay afloat.
Continuing with your website, ensure every post/page is quality work, even if it only means on posting a week- It's not a race!
Thank you for your encouragement! I appreciate the kind words. It's nice to know I'm not alone!
With almost a million people, here, you will never be alone!
Thank you! I appreciate your encouragement :)
