WA isn't a scam. It's also not a magic button, or pill, that's going to make you a lot of money in a hurry without any work. You're going to have to read, and learn, and then take action. Don't get stuck in the process of learning and never acting. If you do, you'll learn a lot, but make no money. And that's counter productive.
It's okay. It's not a scam. Everything can seem overwhelming in the beginning, but once you have a plan; work the plan and don't get sidetracked!

I know how you are feeling. My advice is to keep reviewing the material, so that you will get familiar with terms and the way to start. Then follow just one marketing plan, so that you are not confused. IM is a changing, evolving art. Not only that, everyone has his own opinions about the best way to do things. Focus on keywords and writing content for your niche, and follow one marketer's advice.

You are already on your way, by asking for advice you will get a lot and all the information can be overwhelming. It is not a scam unlike many other similar sites.
