I Love It When A Plan Comes Together

I want to share a success story for me.

I've been making daily shorts for the last several months and posting them on YouTube and Facebook. I've been consistently getting 100-200 views a day on both platforms, sometime less, sometimes more. A few times, I've gotten more than 1,000 a few times.

The views have been nice but nothing to get excited about.

That changed this week.

Before I get into that, I need to share the most ironic part of the whole thing: This past Monday, my daily short on YouTube got only 6 views. As I write this, it has climbed to 14. To say I was disappointed, is a gross understatement.

BUT,

On that same day, my Facebook short got more than 6,000 views. It was/is the same video I posted on Facebook. I posted them within minutes of each other. As I write this, the Facebook post has gotten more than 34,000 views and still growing.

The 34,000 views and counting Facebook post

I'd show it here if I could but I guess I'm only allowed one video per blog post. I will create another blog to show that video. I don't want to show it so I can brag. In fact, just the opposite. I want to show that I'm not making masterpieces. I'm making simple 15-30 second helpful shorts, being me, doing what I do, that adult ESL students around the world can relate to and/or find useful.

It's a testament to EEAT and has nothing to do with production or technical skills. I record them here at home and edit them on Canva.

What's at least if not more important than the views, is the amount of interaction-likes, comments, and follows I've gotten and continue to get.

My Facebook following has increased from about 1,500 to more than 3,600 this week! I can't keep up with trying to respond to all the replies to my first comments.

Facebook Page Showing Followers

This is nuts! I'm not complaining. I just didn't see this coming.

The only Facebook short that I've posted this week that has gotten under 1,000 views, has gotten more than 900. The one from Wednesday has gotten more than 23,000 views and a lot of interaction. The one from yesterday has gotten more than 5,600. The one I posted today, a couple of hours ago has already gotten more than 1,100 views.

The bottom line is, it's all about consistency. It works. Don't think about it. Just do it. Find out for yourself.
