Kelby Writes Adventure's Timeline So Far

Hi everyone, I hope you're having a good Saturday.

I've been so busy working on my site and writing my second blog post (not counting my About page) that I haven't had much time to write THIS blog.

So here's a little timeline of my time on Wealthy Affiliate so far:

July 31, 2019 - I joined WA. I got ideas to start my own blog after reading this how-to on starting a blog by Rob Palmer. The steps to start a blog were straightforward enough, and they all sound fun. The part of the article where he talks about how the blog positively impacted his life - especially financially - was so uplifting! He also linked to a few other bloggers' success stories, and their stories were just as encouraging!

Their stories also echoed the kind of life I could only dream of having - a life where I could trek the world if I wanted without having to worry about a day job getting in the way. A life where I could chill if I wanted to, and work hard for just three hours a day - or even as little as four hours a week!

But even though the money and lifestyle is awesome, it's NOT the one and only reason for my blog. If it was, I wouldn't be in this for the long haul. The other, bigger reason was that being an author had been on my mind quite a lot lately, and I was just *burning* to get back into my long-forgotten passion for story writing again! Besides, I had already tried to get into 3D animation - which is still story telling in a MUCH more visual (and expensive) way - but found it wasn't for me. So I thought, "Why not go back into the old-fashioned, but still appreciated, way of storytelling?"

What finally brought me here to WA, though, is the Full Time Job From Home blog, run by a guy named Brok. Brok promoted WA as his #1 recommendation for making money online. As he described everything about WA, I was impressed and really wanted to do it! So I went straight here, signed up, set up my account, and went all-in on the first ten lessons!

August 6, 2019 - After going through the lessons and setting up the website, I went premium. I realized that having all these handy tools for managing your site, on ONE website, is so much better than having to find your own resources on many different services and websites.

August 9, 2019 - I published my About page. I'm a perfectionist, so even after the post went live, I spent an hour fixing the post's formatting and images until it looked right. (I didn't like the big spaces Wordpress will insert between paragraphs.) But I know how to use HTML, so now I just use the HTML for the post in the Text section of the Post Editor, and my posts look better for it. The next day, after clearing up an issue with my bank, I bought the kelbywritesadventure.com domain and moved my site to it.

August 15, 2019 - I got an email from WA that my website was indexed in Google! I knew then that I was well on my way to success.

August 18, 2019 - I published my first post on six essential elements of a good adventure story. I also set up some social media accounts and promoted that post on those pages.

August 22, 2019 - I got an email from WA saying that that first post was indexed in Google! I couldn't be happier, but it's just the beginning.

Right now, I'm working on my second post. Can't wait to publish it, promote it, and get the email saying THAT post was indexed! Most of all, I can't wait to build an audience - which I know will happen with all my efforts. I don't think I've been this confident about anything in my life!
