Disconnecting That Voice In Your Subconscious Head
Last Update: April 18, 2013
FRUSTRATION! FRUSTRATION! FRUSTRATION!
This has been a week of it. Spending hours on tedious little things. Trying to find a solution to the tiniest issues. Only to find out that in the end they were so easy. Attempting now to breathe slow.
So, this morning, when I sat down at my computer, I found myself frozen, just staring at the screen. I think I was expecting it to talk back to me and tell me what to do. Silence. Staring, staring, staring, fear gripping me like a wicked vice.
The voice in my head.
I know that voice in my head was talking to me, thus the vice-like frozen state. Not my conscious voice. I can hear that. But my unconscious one. I'm pretty sure it was telling me nasty little things.
Then I started thinking consciously.
"Why in the world," I asked my conscious self, "Am I just staring at my computer screen, watching the devil stare back at me?" And then an angel appeared. No, not really. But, over-dramatization sometimes helps the read.
So the angel in my head said...
"You have met frustration (the devil indeed) at every IM online corner this week. So your subconscious mind is telling you to just give up. What better way to end frustration? So, let me shed a little light on the issue: Don't give up and the devil will go away (at least for awhile since he never gives up either!)"
So the solution to disconnecting that unconscious voice in your head is: Talk To The Angel In Your Head because the devil in your head will always be lurking about.
My head is saying, "Stop this procrastinating writing thing and get back to work!" Devil or Angel? Who cares? I know what I have to do now. Question to your conscious self: "Are you working on your site today?" Good, I knew you were going to say that!

I'm the same way Sherry. It seems when you get going you wonder, "what was so hard about that?" I know there are those out there who feel a lot like I do at times and I want to encourage them and also give them a chance to laugh at themselves a little cuz we all gotta do that. This was just me laughing at myself. :) Thank you so much for taking the time to read and comment.

Love this! I find myself being pretty good at procrastinating even though I want to get stuff done on my site and article writing, I catch myself doing the same thing! Which is silly since once I get started writing something, I do enjoy it!

I understand what you are saying. I find the way that works for me is to just start anywhere even if it is nonsense.
