Limitations are stimulations

Happy Monday Everyone! :

Until recently, I had been treating all the minor and major misfortunes as 'the end of the word', nasty experience, and most of all, I let them cause my negative reactions which ultimately spoilt my day. And then, one of the latest incidents got me thinking. What happened was my freshly purchased freshest bunch of beautiful roses got accidentally, partially damaged by my bag that slipped off my shoulder and smashed their poor heads off. My instant reaction was anger, swearing and blaming my clumsiness for the whole thing. And then it hit me! I stopped and reflected on the whole situation. My conclusions were as following:

1 - No use crying over spilt milk - can't turn back the time

2 - Is it really worth my nerves and anger with myself?

3 - It was an accident - I did not do it on purpose - things happen and it's part of life

4 - What can I do to fix it ?

And that moment, I realised that the whole situation constituted an opportunity to come up with some creative ideas :) - bingo! As I love being creative in all areas of life, I immediately started thinking how to use the misfortune as a source of my new creations. The result?

1 - I managed to stick one half-broken flower head to the stem using adhesive tape and it was standing still for a good while :)

2 - All other separated flower heads ended up in slim, tall vases or short vodka glasses and beautifully decorated my shelves and kitchen sink for 2 weeks.

3 - The saved part of the bunch landed in a big vase, still looking nice without their companions.

4 - I felt super proud of myself for being able to master my mind and solve the problem creatively :)

It looks like a little bit of mindfulness goes a long way as it can help us consciously interpret events and direct our thoughts and actions to our benefit.

Wishing you ALL all the small and big successes! :)

Love

Kate

Great realization Kate. Everything happening is an opportunity for us to respond, react, enjoy or not. We are challenged to accept every moment as the chance to become better than we were in the past. Keep growing.

Yes I agree, thank you for sharing with us Kate.

Because the things that frustrate us, and happened in the past, has already happened, there is no changing it.

And before reacting, we should think about it first, and move on.
Thank you for sharing once again Kate
