Blessing in disguise?

My car has broken down ... AGAIN! And it wouldn't move this time. It happened outside my home, so should feel lucky it did not refuse to work in the middle of nowhere. The only thing is, I will need to pay for towing as my policy does not cover home breakdown. If that had happened at least 1/4 mile away from home, then my insurer would tow it to a local garage at no extra cost as it would be classed as roadside breakdown for which I'm covered. There have been suggestions to push it along the road as far as 1/4 mile in order to qualify for 'free' towing :) ... Anyway, I decided to call out my trusted car mechanic and have it towed at a decent price, hopefully tomorrow.

The above experience made me think of life experiences and how relative they might be depending on how you look at them. Have you ever had any mishap in your life that at the end of the day turned out to be a blessing rather than a curse?

Thank you for reading :)

You're welcome SBass7 :) What a horrible experience! Hope he's OK now. I have 2 boys, 4 and 7 myself, and would be scared stiff if something like that happened to them. I can tell from my own and second-hand experience that everything happens for a reason. Maybe that was the meaning of the whole nasty experience - to make the boy's mom realise how much she loves him, how fragile life is and that we should be spending it with our nearest and dearest as much as we can.

Kate,
Thank you for the perspective check. Its so important!
My nephew was recently in the hospital for swallowing a battery that got stuck in his esophagus. He ended up being ok, but he was there for about 3 weeks. They had to keep him to make sure his esophagus didn't close up, or incase he started bleeding. Im so thankful he is ok! He hasn't been able to ingest anything until last week. It was super hard for everyone who knows him, his mom in particular. It was hard to see both of them under so much stress, but through it all, Ive gotten to watch this little boy come farther and farther out of harms way, and Ive gotten to witness a change of perspective for his family. His mom told me how much it was all making her want to do more with him. It certainly made me step back and remember how precious and fragile life is, and how short it can be.
