3 Plugins for Affiliates That Have Made My Life Easier

As a non-techie, I've had my share of diastrous moments where I tried to copy and paste CSS code into my posts and it did NOT go as planned! Wonky font changes, weird spacing between words, you name it. Luckily, these 3 plugins have come to the rescue.

  1. FMTC Affiliate Disclosure. You know that disclaimer that appears at the top of just about every affiliate blogger's posts saying "may contain affiliate links," etc. Well, I wanted one of those on my site, too. After literally hours (I'm not kidding) of articles and confusing YouTube tutorials involving code, I finally gave up. After all, I could just write the disclaimer myself, right? The only problem is that the disclaimer was the first and only thing that would show up in the preview texts for all my posts. Not very enticing! Thankfully, I discovered this plugin, which lets you add the disclaimer to all your posts in seconds and solves the problem with the preview text.
  2. Thirsty Affiliates. There's nothing more frustrating than spending an hour creating a new pin, only to enter your affiliate link and have Pinterest reject it (mind you, I was not violating any of their guidelines)! Thankfully, this plugin helps you get around this issue through the use of cloaking.
  3. Ultimate Nofollow. For some reason, it's good to have affiliate links marked as "nofollow" if you have a lot of them. I forget precisely what that reason is--something to do with regulations--but regardless, this plugin makes the process really simple.

So there you have it. I'm still trying to find a plugin specifically designed to insert an affiliate disclosure statement (the long version with all the official FTC compliant language) at the bottom of my page. My theme doesn't offer many options in the way of widgets and I've already tried unsuccessfully to create a footer. So if you know of anything, I'm all ears!
