Hi Karli, I think that you should upload the theme using ftp FTP & FileZilla - Connecting to domain via FTP once your theme is uploaded, you can validate your API key. Hope this helps. Cheers

Thank you! I get that part, I was just concerned that you weren't able to SEO optimize categories as well as pages. I guess you can optimize posts individually, so it doesn't matter? I guess my actual question is: are Categories as powerful as pages to SEO? Does Google mind if you use "categories" instead of pages?

I'm brainstorming content ideas, and a lot of them would be like product comparison/reviews and stuff like that. Since I don't have any traffic/content yet, I've been holding of
Whatever your really passionate about, that"s what you need to write about, because the passion will come out in your writing. Good luck
You need to come up with your niche. Remember reading about it in lessons? Why don't you go back there now and take a look.
We need to be passionate about whatever we decided to write about here. It has little to do with who has a similar niche or not. In fact, the less people involved in writing about your niche you pick, the faster you make it to page one of google. And that is why we start writing in the first place. To get there on the first page! Traffic it is, pure gold!
What is it you have a passion for?
What have you always thought about daily.
Is fashion enough of a passion to write about it for a year or two without getting paid? This is what you have to think about. You are going to be writing for free! :)
Send me a PM when you get a chance and give me a list of five things you are most passionate about, and I will take a look and explain which would be the best in turn to promote online. And the ones with the most competition as well.
Send me the five things: products, or services, it does not matter.

Thanks! I'm on my way out right now,but will send you some stuff when I get back. I'm pretty set on the 'music festival' niche, I am just having trouble getting started, I guess...
I know quite a bit about and go to a lot of music festivals. I was thinking about reviewing/discussing things needed for music festivals (gear, fashion, ext). Is it acceptable to write more general articles as well? I can't find many examples on here of people with similar niches...
That's what I was thinking! :D Got over a bit of writers block and wrote this post: http://bestforthefest.com/category/camping Mentioned tons of products in there without even trying... now just need some traffic so that I can become an Amazon affiliate. I will keep plugging away!
