When the Path to Success Gets Blocked, Make an Alternate Path!
Well .... a little over ten days ago the entire path to my short term goal changed. It's funny how that happens sometimes isn't it? You are on track, unstoppable and then BAM ... something personally hits you and suddenly things change. Your path has now been altered and your goal has no choice but to change.
You have a couple options at that point, one of which I wouldn't think would ever be in your favor. You could sit down and restructure your path to get back on track which is the smart choice. You could decide to take an entirely different path and make a longer stretched goal, which ehhhh....probably wouldn't be the smartest thing to do. Or, you could just let the walls come crashing down and quit altogether. That one I wouldn't obviously suggest EVER because why? WE DON'T QUIT!!
I opt for the path restructure to be back on track with my goal. Do I have to restructure on multiple levels? Yes, but the result will be the same no matter what, I'll still get to my goal either way. This is without a doubt the best option. Too many times I've seen people start something and then when something out of their control happens, they give up on what they started. Where does that get them exactly? NOWHERE!!
Just because something happened that altered your path doesn't mean that you have to close the path down. The end result is still there, that doesn't ever change. It will always still be there waiting for you. You just have to get through the obstacles and let's face it, without obstacles, we wouldn't learn right?
So what is my point in all of this? My point is don't let the little things, no matter how big they seem or how much they alter your path destroy what you've set out to do. Just restructure the path. It's like a tree that falls on a road during a storm. You still need to get to the other side so you can reach your destination, you just find an alternate route. Same goes with success. Just find an alternate route!
Be Well!

Back in the 60's we used to say "Keep on Truckin' " Guess good ideas never go out of style. I used to say "If at first you don't succeed - lower your standards!" But all that got me was a big laugh - I like your advice better. ~take my advice, I'm not using it. . . is another old favorite of mine. LOL Happy Spring!
