SEO title tags
- Always code a title tag in the head section.
- The title shoul describe accuaratley the page's content, always include one or two keywords that you want the page to rank for.
- The title should be interesting to entice readers to click on it when it's shown in the search results for a search engines.
- The title should be unique for every page on your website.
- Limit the length of your titles to around 65 characters because most search engines don't display more than that in their results.
- Title element specfies text that's displayed in browser's tab for the web page.
- Title is also used as the name of a favorite or bookmar for a page.
- A custom icon, called favicon, typically named favicon and must have extension ico to work correctly with internet explorer. A favicon typically appears to left of title in browser tab. May also appear to left od url in browser address bar, and it may also be used in a favorite or bookmark.
- To specify a favicon for a page , you use a link tag
- <head>
- <title>-----|keywords>/title>
- <link rel="shortcut icon" href='favicon.ico">
- </head>
- To create an ico file, you can use an icon editor, a program that converts an image to an ico file, or a web-based converter. You may be able to find an icon on the internet by searching for "web icons"
- Favicon isn't displayed in order version's of explorer if the page is served from anothe local file system. It's only displayed if the page is served from the web server.
