Full Copper Repipe

So, I'm facing the task of building a new (and improved) site after suffering - yes woe is me - a slap on the wrist from the google monster.

My old site has completely original content, fashioned entirely from the depths of knowledge dwelling inside my cranium and I know it helped my visitors because they told me so.

Therefore I was hoping to find a way to shift some of the best content over to the new site without arousing the ire of the duplicate content police. I do try to avoid scuppering myself right out of the gate.

How much of a tweak would be enough to get the job done?

I had no idea and I must admit that I was tempted, to just tweak a little and call it done.

But a little voice inside my head said "go and find out from someone who has actually has a clue doofus".

So I did. I popped into WA chat and asked for some advice.

Luckily for me, Carson appeared a few moments later and pointed me in the right direction.

Copying the content over with a few tweaks just wouldn't cut it and would hurt my new site. I needed to do a complete rewrite, or as we say in the Buffy (the vampire slayer) universe

A Full Copper Repipe!

Needless to say that wasn't exactly what I wanted to hear, but I got down to it.

The upshot of my full copper repipe, is that not only have I totally rewritten that page in a much more conversational and I hope more engaging tone. I've also added new information, because, two years on from the original article, I have a lot more expertise to offer. Is that a trumpet I hear being blown, nah can't be.

Anyway, now I have a better web page for the visitors to my new site and I run no risk of upsetting old Grisly bear. Google, not Carson ;)

I'm going to get on with rewriting the other pages that I need to move and instead of being a chore, I think it's going to be a productive endeavor.

Thanks for reading and could you hand me that wrench please.

i had a similar experience (read 'rejected, corrected, accepted') - i didn't realize that copying my own story constitutes c&p - i wish i had asked carson first - i even have articles from newspaper copy that have to be rewritten (ugh) but live and learn - at least we have the benefit of knowledgeable peepz that can point out our mistakes

yep, whenever I'm not sure about something I'm going to ask for help or clarification. I think that will save a lot of wasted effort.
I like that line - ('rejected, corrected, accepted') - did you come up with it?

thank you and that's a roger - i have been guilty of a furtive imagination every now and again
