A Theme update messed up my sites appearance. I have been using Moustache. Font size changes shifted a lot of things within my site. It made more sense to recreate my site w
A lesson well learned, I'm sure.
For what it's worth, for the very purpose of preventing such events happening, I've created training that will help you prevent such a catastrophe.
Take a look through the link here How To Test Plugins - OR - How To Wreck Sites Safely to create a WreckSite! :-)
Thanks Everyone. The support team gave me one sentence answers that basically said No. And a second one sentence answer just confused me more.
I did a site back up, then threw in a newly themed already created copy of my site that was waiting in a siterubix. I held my breath a d moved it in place. It worked. Because it is a new theme, my pictures have to be retro fitted, and I have to go in and check internal links, ads, photos, and any updated pages or posts, but its safe. Its still fetching on Google. I'm satisfied.. Not finished working on it, but satisfied.
this is something to ask the support site team

Marion always knows the answer. If she says it's a support issue then by all means contact support. Good luck!

i did a recommended theme update yesterday and my nicely aligned page is all now wonky, font size on the header, side bar widgets, and footer are all messed up.
Can I uni
I had that happen to me once; it's a terrible feeling when your website gets all discombobulated! My way out was easy though. Just go into your Admin area and choose a different theme (Appearance-Themes). It could be easier than trying to rebuild your site. Also, is there any chance you could reinstall the theme without the update? Good luck!
Have you made a backup of your site before updating the theme?
I've found a video, but it's from 2014: How To Downgrade Wordpress from 3.9 to 3.8.3
Ok.
I suggest building first a wreck site How To Create A Test Site and to try the steps BEFORE you try on your real site. How to restore a Wordpress Website from Backup
Awesome thank you, I will do that this evening. I have a payroll jib to attend first. Thank you for easing my mind that there may be a fix. Even if not a simple one, Google analytics is going to chew me up and spit me out... But I don't have to start from scratch.
Although.. A new theme... Hmm , if necessary, as long as I don't lose all my articles..
