Choosing a Niche - What Google Sees
We are all trying to build websites that Google will rank so that we can get traffic.
We do this by choosing a niche that we feel we can bring value to and create content that will help our readers.
Here's the problem...
Google isn't a human being.
It is a computer program.
Some of us think that we can create a website about something like sporting goods and write about baseball and football and basketball, etc.
That would be great for humans, but not for a computer program.
Google doesn't see sporting goods as being related to each other.
Google would see that site as just a bunch of scattered ideas.
In Google's eyes, baseball would only be related to other relevant keywords about baseball.
Baseball glove, baseball bat, baseball game, baseball scores, little league baseball, MLB, etc.
Remember this when choosing a niche!
Start By Doing Keyword Research.By all means start with Jaaxy, but then go to the free keyword planner at Google Adwords.
Yes, you will have to set up a campaign, but you don't have to launch the campaign.
Search for related keywords.
Google will show you exactly what it sees in your niche.
If Google does not show you a certain keyword in your related keyword search it is because Google does not see it as related to your niche and you should not be writing about it on your site.
It will only confuse Google, and that is the last thing that you want to do.
The more focused that you can make your content on the related keywords that Google returns for your niche, the faster you will rank for those keywords.
This will make your website's niche very clear to Google.
Try to think like Google when choosing a niche, then think like your reader when creating content!
