Creating links within site
I am trying to figure out the most effective way to add more posts and pages on my site. It appears you can only add so many pages on the menu before running out of space and adding widget posts before it gets too far down. I don't want to keep adding posts on a single page making visitors scroll all the way down or up to find the info they need. What I want to do is create links to other posts within a posts without creating a post or page on the home page.
Can anyone help? Thanks.

Just create internal links within your content. This is a VERY GOOD SEO technique that will not only keep people on your website longer but it will also please Google and give your rankings a boost. To create internal links is quite easy and I explain how at the link below. How to Improve Website Ranking 3: Internal Links for SEO
Ok. I know how to create internal links but what I can't seem to figure out is how to create a link to one of my posts without having the actual post display on my "recent posts" in widget area.
Do I have to create a new category? Also, I'm not quite sure how the category in wordpress works either. Suggestions?
will keep trying. Thanks.
Posts will always appear in your recent posts widget but you can also just get rid of the entire widget if you want.
Categories will help with your website SEO. Let us say you have a few blogs with videos, you could create a category called "Video" so if a website visitor wants to just see which blogs have videos they can click on that category and just view those blogs without having to search through all available blogs.
Cool.
I kind of sorted out my problem by playing around with it. I was just a little disorganized in the beginning. :)
Thanks for clarifying the categories.
Can you also explain the use of tags?
Thanks for your fast replies.
Blog post tags are like keywords. Since you are not supposed to put your keywords into the keywords meta tag, I will put one or two relevant keywords into the blog post tags.
