That is a subdomain, your domain is free from the www. subdomain as are all websites here. Browsers strip that out these days so it is completely unnecessary (it is a bit old school).

I also came to the new understanding those www's are being eliminated as technology advancement. To make the world a better place they at times pull the carpet out from underneath us. Bewildering indeed, but thanks for what you brought to light.
