Spring is in the air!

The grass is turning green and the birds have come back from their southern winter homes! The cheerful songs of birds and the warm sunshine give a warm assurance that someday our earth will be back to normal and we will be able to enjoy the amazing outdoors!

Campfires - A Highlight Of An Evening At Home

We had this amazing campfire this evening! My two children are 3 years old and almost 2 years old and they absolutely loved it! Sitting around the fire watching it burn and roasting marshmallows was a highlight for them.

It also brought back memories of my childhood and how my Dad would have a campfire often throughout the summer and fall. We enjoyed spending time as a family and cooking various types of food over it.

Often times we would burn a large hollow log as I am doing in the picture. It only takes a hollow log 3 feet long to create a large, roaring, torch-like fire. The heat of the fire carries sparks extremely high in the air and it will burn for hours!

The Love And Importance Of Family

As the fire burned and I looked at my family I thought about my parents. They have taught me that loving my family is essential, along with taking time to play with the children as they grow, is important for a family to function properly.

Earning love from your child is easy, but will you gain their respect as they become adults? My parents succeeded and I hope to follow in their footstep!
