48 Hours into WA

48 hours ago I joined WA. For weeks prior to that, I did a ton of research online with no real direction to go in. Guru after guru, expert after expert, all "wanted" to "help" me, as long as I paid the equivalent of a mortgage payment for their program. Finally, I came across WA. How grateful I am to be here. I am creating my website, ironically on a niche that I didn't even have on my list originally but I stumbled across it and ran with it!

I'd like to know what research is involved in finding YOUR niche? Do you search it on google? Jaaxy? Adwords? Does it matter how popular the actual niche is, or as long as you can find some keywords that aren't totally saturated, is that ok too? What make a great niche?

Thank you WA for this opportunity. I am looking forward-to success!!

Great site, you and KayTub should discuss some of these topics together and bounce ideas off (could even backlink to each other)

In regards to niche selection, I use the 777 technique that I wrote about in my blog post.

Write a list of 7 passions, 7 fears and 7 problems. Then narrow it down using keyword research to figure out suitable ones, and then once again look at content topics for each one.

Usually that list are profitable/popular subjects, which is why I love this idea. You just need to ensure the top 10 sites aren't too strong.

My blog post for the 777 discussion: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/boffy/blog/boffy-niche-blog-2-the-niche-keywords

I think like anything the passion must come first, and the rest should follow...Keyword etc important regarding search engines etc and WA ideal for that training... but I guess there are many other ways to get traffic too. Did use Jaaxy and the free WA Keyword Tool. (menu on left) One thing I did realize that you need to get the .url name as close to what you want before doing to much work. I redid my site 3 times in one day, as the only way I could change .url name was delete and start again!

I think most people pick something they know a lot about as you have to blog about it 2 to 3 times a week....its easier if you know what you are talking about.

For me my niche was based on my background and knowledge as well as an interest of mine, that way I relate well with the products I have chosen to market.
